If 25 happen it would show little comparable for trackers that had ? Rambo being more dead on in comp.

That's... pretty impressive for an initial slate at Arden.  Sure it's much closer to release than many films.  Still a lot.

I figure a lot of this has to be theaters still smarting after a fairly anemic summer post-TLK.  But this is more than I was expecting even if they don't start selling until 10/11 days out.

I looked at bay area and NYC. I see showtimes only for Century and Alamo Drafthouse. Of course based on number of shows its at blockbuster level. With a short PS window, let us hope daily updates are non-trivial.

I think I might have jumped the gun on my Holy Shit comment as locally only Arden is going crazy on showtimes at the moment.  Regal, for instance, is trickling in at respectable numbers while other local Centurys are coming in at a high number, but not nearly as high as Arden.

 

I guess Century Arden wanted to plant its flag in the ground early and try to use some of its local market dominance for once.

Highly doubtful unless walk ups go crazy. 

 

Right now it's looking more like low to mid teens

 

My local in NYC only has 4 showings for it on Friday.  DA has 9.  Rambo has 15.  TLK still has 4.  Villains which we haven't even been tracking is opening with 6.

 

EDIT: First Man Previews to w/e multi =  14.55 - $1.1/ $16 

Previews at my local are currently .1635% of OUATIH - so x5.8 = $.948m  x 14.55 = $13.78m

Regals (at least the ones near me) tend to not max out showtimes for movies until about 1-4 days before release. I bet the AMCs are probably gonna start out big too like the Centurys.

Cinemark in Salt Lake City is starting to post their Joker sets for preview night, and so far, with 50% of theaters reporting, the show count is 67. This compares to the following counts for this weekend's openers, all with 100% reporting:

Sly Killing lots of People 34

 

I don't have exact comparisons for the year's earlier blockbusters, but I'm guessing the screen total is probably going to be behind only Cap Marvel, Avengers, and TLK when the dust settles.

Somewhere along the way, I screwed up and somehow didn’t count some showings. I think what I did was not count a showing for the 19th because I thought it was for the 12th.
