The official account on twitter says June 10th now too. I guess they'll do an official announcement tomorrow morning? Weird as hell though.

It was moved to a Thurs open earlier today, so I’d guess it’s a simple matter of some not updating yet.

Ugghhh

I can't stand weekday openings. Makes the weekend so much harder to track and way less fun as a result. It's not even a holiday weekend where it's justifiable.

I was way off. Again its hard to extrapolate in these market conditions. I feel we are better off looking at sample data and extrapolating.

AQP2 D2

MTC1 - 291181/1187427 2939633.00 7486 shows

MTC2 - 213089/829681 2385597.17 6002 shows

Cruella D2

MTC1 - 135884/712352 1096440.00 5092 shows

MTC2 - 113872/531424 1152857.73 4037 shows

Not much of a increase for either movies. But I am iffy on ratios. It should go down a bit from friday. So I would say 15-20% increase for Cruella(minus previews) and 10% for AQP2(minus previews).

I will again take a hiatus. Will be back for F9 or BW. Hopefully its "normal" Bo though I am skeptical. BW is hybrid and so it cannot be normal and F9  franchise is over the hill domestically. I am expecting F9 to drop quite a bit from F8.

I predict no movie over 150m this summer 😞

Am I understand it correctly your number? That means 25% occupancy rate for AQP2 and ~20% for cruella? Is this common? Sound low to me

Update for next week's releases:

Thursday:

Spirit Untamed:

5:00: 2/67 (+2)

7:40: 1/67 (-)

Total: 3/134 (+2)

Friday:

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It:

4:00 IMAX: 4/372 (+4)

6:00: 5/77 (+2)

7:00 IMAX: 11/372 (+3)

9:00: 9/77 (+3)

Total: 29/898 (+12) (+71%)

Spirit Untamed:

3:40: 6/67 (+6)

6:20: 0/67 (-)

Total: 6/134 (+6)

Comparisons for Conjuring:

27% of AQP2 previews 2 days out (1.3M)

97% of Spiral previews the day before (730k)

35% of Spiral's Friday day of (1.3M)

I don't have great comps right now since I wasn't in full tracking mode yet for the last few weeks; Tuesday should paint a better picture, but so far sales are encouraging.

Yeah it's doing pretty good here. Very curious how the next few days roll around, but it should at least land in the high teens at this rate.

The Conjuring 3, counted today at noon (because I did not have the patience to wait after I read the new tracking-reports here):

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 142 (4 showtimes)
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24):
37 (4 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18):
29 (4 showtimes)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9):
10 (2 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11):
25 (4 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 54 (3 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal):
344 (9 showtimes)

Total tickets sold in
7 theaters till today for Friday/June 4: 641.
Up 84% since last Thursday. Very good!
AQP II had last Monday 747 sold tickets for its Thursday previews. We have to keep in mind that AQP II had a great last week and decent walk-ups but still, that The Conjuring 3 came that close is indeed promising.
Other comps:
It 2 (91.1M OW) had on Monday of its release week 2.404 sold tickets for Friday (a brutal comp because It 2 had already ca. 120 showtimes and the Conjuring 3 has 30 at the moment), The Invisible Man (28.2M) had on Monday 323 sold tickets, Crawl (12.0M) had on Monday in 6 theaters 87 sold tickets (so for The Conjuring 641 without NY = 499).
Scary Stories
(20.9M) had on Wednesday (it was in too few theaters on Monday for a good comp, therefore I take its Wednesday) 377 sold tickets.
I always compared the sold tickets for Friday but Idk if that's right. Would the Thursday previews be the better comparisons for the Friday number of The Conjuring 3 (because it seems that The Conjuring 3 doesn't have previews on Thursday)?

@el sid thanks for the info on Conjuring 3. How about In the Heights or is too early?

Normally I have only (or at least better) comparisons for the last week. But I could look at In the Heights also a bit earlier, means this week.

Was kind of hoping the movie sold a little bit more, but beggars can't be choosers. And this is comping very well with AQP2 at this point in time.

I can confirm no social distancing in Sacramento for FF9.  Presumably no caps as well.

At least at a couple of theaters I randomly quickly checked on the corp pages.  Fandango might be giving contradictory info.

edit: Only Cinemark so far - see post below.

...

They better hope Sacto County doesn't decide to keep it on its own once June 15th passes.

Also at a super quick glance, looks to be 7pm previews.  For now.

Oh, bothernation.   Regal is still social distancing while Cinemark isn't. :kitschjob:

Looks like the local True IMAX is also social distancing.  Not sure about Cinema West.

Just what I need.  Gonna have to figure out how I want to put all of this in my sheets, never mind report it.

It'll be just my luck that once June 15th offically passes, then Regal and Cinema West will yank the socially distanced seats.
