Not too crazy, hasn't been on sale for long and there was only a clip alongside presales drop instead of a full trailer. Nothing to really take away from this, it's just mostly setup for the rest of tracking.

Wow, an amazing day. Don't know why Highlands Ranch hasn't added more showings, they are holding themselves back. Probably would've broke 300 tickets sold today if they added more already.

So my plan at the moment is to be rid of Friday for movies with Thursday previews, as it takes too much time to record and has been hurting my own sleep schedule and health. I'm unsure if something like Spirit will, so if we do get separate Thursday numbers, that'll be the big test that will just make me focus on Thursday from now on. For F9, I feel 99% confident we will get separate Thursday numbers revealed, so we're good there.

Anyways, I don't have anything too far back just yet in terms of comps, but this seems solid, if unspectacular so far.

THATS THE SPIRIT.

I also should get back into my routine. Or I would if my theater opened. I did get some inside info on why it’s closed. The owner of the business that owns the seven theaters, died. And now the business is in a trust, and the board of trustees are trying to figure out if they want to liquidate the theater or if they want to sell off the business. So I have no clue in my theater is going to open. Because they could make that decision in two weeks or they could make it in like a year.

The Conjuring 3, counted today at 10am EST:

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 405 (10 showtimes)
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24):
159 (7 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18):
115 (11 showtimes)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9):
38 (5 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 96
 (7 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 126 (7 showtimes, the Sell Out has vanished)
LA (AMC Universal):
496 + 1 true Sell Out (10 showtimes).

Total tickets sold in
7 theaters till today for Friday: 1.435+.
Up 34% since yesterday (AQP II had a jump of 31%). Another good day, only the jumps in California could have been a bit higher. But overall I'm pleased that the pre-sales improved much since last week.
AQP II had last Thursday 1.582 sold tickets for its Thursday previews.
The Invisible Man (28.2M) had on Thursday 894 sold tickets for Friday, Scary Stories (20.9M) 578 and Crawl (12.0M) 269.

Doctor Sleep (14.1M) had less than 600 sold tickets for Friday.

Tomorrow: In the Heights.

@Tinalera Do we really have to wait until July for rest of the Canada to resume their business?

I can only speak for Ontario as different provinces have different rules. I don't know if any other provinces have opened theatres yet (Quebec maybe?), but from what we are hearing here Theatres are in phase 3 as we are about to enter phase 1 with 3 weeks between. Im thinking Early to mid July Theatres in Ontario may finally get open for business. As for rest of Canada, each province has different opening strategies. Porthos response I added details down below.

TL DR: Our province had some issues getting early vacc started.

Sorry it took a couple of days to respond been busy around here lol.

Update

Tonight:

Spirit Untamed:

5:00: 7/67 (+5)

7:40: 2/67 (+1)

Total: 9/134 (+6)

Friday:

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It:

2:15: 5/107 (+5)

3:00: 4/77 (+4)

4:00 IMAX: 11/372 (+2)

5:20: 4/107 (+4)

6:00: 16/77 (+9)

7:00 IMAX: 35/372 (+17)

8:15: 13/107 (+13)

8:45: 5/40 (+5)

9:00: 31/77 (+13)

10:00 IMAX: 6/372 (+6)

Total: 130/1,524 (+78) (150% increase in sales since Tuesday)

Spirit Untamed:

3:40: 6/67 (-)

6:20: 3/67 (+3)

9:05: 0/67 (-)

Total: 9/201 (+3)

Conjuring comps:

66% of AQP2 previews day of (3.2M)

76% of AQP2's Friday the day before (11.2M)

155% of Spiral's Friday day of (5.7M)

Sales are picking up really well for Conjuring. Worst case scenario for Friday is probably 7M; best case is probably 14-15M. Maybe the weekend ends up closer to 30M than 20M?

Spirit tonight is 28% of Cruella's previews (670k). Anything over 5M will probably be a win this weekend.

Not Tinalera (nor @Jason for that matter), but something that you might not be aware of:

% of Canadians with at least 1 dose of a vaccine: 58%

% of Canadians who are fully vaccinated:             5.5%

That is NOT a typo.  Now not being Canadian I don't know the exact ins and outs, but I presume they are more or less following a longer span between doses strategy (which very likely was at least partially driven by supply considerations).  That means the number of folks with partial immunity can rise pretty quickly, as seen in this graph (scroll down to Figure 2).

It also means, though, that "full vaccination" might take quite a while longer, but once it does it should come in pretty quickly.  Especially since the Canadian government is recommending "mixing and matching" various vaccines in "certain situations".

Anywho, a long time between doses might even be a good thing, if some studies about antibody production are accurate.  Either way though, until more Canadians are fully vaccinated, I wouldn't expect them to copy the CDC's "run free and be merry.... as long as you're vaccinated" guidance.  Which means that "July" sounds pretty likely to me as a target date.  Jason, if he decides to pick up the phone sees anything worth commenting on after being tagged, might have more insightful commentary, including that target date.

Pretty much spot on. Ontario has I think 10 million with 1 dose and maybe close to a million with 2 doses. There is a minimum 3 weeks between doses (Ive had myh first dose second sched for SEPT....unless we get doses in our area faster. Also in Ontario there was a rather large accusation of our premier playing politics when vaccs first went out in Jan, accused of favoring certain age groups that were part of his voting bloc as opposed to just getting them all out there (Ford really has been taking a beating for it). Our first initial does were like a few a thousand a day when when supposedly had ability for 150 thousand a day. After about a month we started seeing first doses of 100 grand plus a day but then miniscule 2nd doses. To get through phase 1 in Ontario requires 60 percent first doses (we are well over that). Phase 2 is 70 percent first dose (basically there) AND 20 percent second dose. Ontario pop is 14 million. So about 11 million for first dose and 2.8 mil for second dose. 3rd phase (theatres) will start at 80 percent first dose and I think 40 percent for 2nd dose. We have about 10 percent population of US (heck I think California alone has our population). So there may seem a bit off the first to second dose ratio.

Again as far as Canada wide its harder to say because our theatres are pretty much monopolized by Cineplex with no real competing theatres, so they in their own way are trying to balance opening in other provinces but no appearing to "favor" any province and keep a consistent message with their opening strategies.

Sorry For delay in response to both of you  been busy last few days lol.

I assume AQP2 numbers are for Thursday morning, So around 90% of AQP2. I guess the pace continues and we have around $4-4.5M pre-sales for Friday, that can be $10-11M OD. Thinking something like
