The reviews for Baywatch are toxic enough that I think it's bound to underperform now. Either Rough Night or The House will be the biggest comedy of the summer, maybe Girls Trip could surprise (I feel like Universal wouldn't have put that kind of movie in the heart of summer if they weren't confident in it).

Forbes list is garbage. I remember IDR being on that list last year and we all know how that turned out.

I've always thought Rough Night would be this summer's breakout comedy. My only fear for that film is if it feels to similar in premise to other movies.

I could see The House doing well, but the movie just makes no sense to me. They make their home a casino to send their daughter to college?? What??

If WoM for Baywatch is bad (like The Rock not being featured enough), then it'll prob go under 100m.

The House also looks lame, not something to be excited over. Girls Trip looks shitty, and the director's movies don't make that much. I mean, sure this could turn it around, but it looks bad. I'd give that movie like 40-45m. Rough Night looks like an extended SNL sketch. Really generic. They all look so bad.

I still think Baywatch will still be highest grossing comedy this summer.

Summer comedies are really unpredictable.  They're mostly driven by WoM, and predicting quality is like trying to predict a what number a di will roll on.

It's gonna be fun seeing just how much The Rock can save such a movie so unappealing. Even the ads for Baywatch make it look like a sitcom that gets pulled after three episodes due to savage reviews and nobody watching.

The Book of Henry as a thriller? LMAO

You didn't see the trailer? It literally looks like three, maybe four, different movies crammed in one. I doubt it's gonna get good reviews, or make much more than pennies at the box office.

Reminds me of Tammy from a couple years ago.  There was nothing appealing about that movie, but it still nearly pulled 100m because of McCarthy.

And, lol, The Hitman's Bodyguard might actually be a surprise hit.

I have a strong feeling it'll hit 30M on OW. EC says it's a decent movie that'll be big with audiences, and August is pretty barren for crowdpleasing films (dramas and smaller films are another story).
