Well, officially we did get the 11.7m from ERC and Gitesh, but @EmpireCity said they were too low. I'm confused now. Edit: So it seems like it is 11.7m after all. Maybe Empire just made a rare mistake. Edited June 6, 2017 by miketheavenger

Johnny Tran
He hinted last night that the number was 12 and it comes in at 11.7, let's relax, that's pretty darn close

Maybe he was screwing with us and meant it was only about 50k too low (which it was) or he just miscalculated. Anyways, it doesn't matter since we have the official number now. SpiritComix
GOTG Vol 2 still had a better hold than Civil War, Iron Man 3 and Age of Ultron. Even with the really tough competition.

mahnamahna
Assuming a $50 million 2nd weekend, I'd say it's on pace for $300 million+ DOM. $31 million 3rd weekend ($258 million) $16.5 million 4th weekend ($291 million) $10 million 5th weekend ($310 million) $4 million 6th weekend ($319 million) $2 million 7th weekend ($323 million) $1 million 8th weekend ($325 million) If it holds slightly better over its 2nd and 3rd weekends, it could even finish ahead of BvS DOM. It should be #5 DOM for the year unless DM3 does better than the expected $280-320 million DOM. Edited June 6, 2017 by mahnamahna

baumer
At this point I would say 380 looks like it's pretty much locked for Guardians of the Galaxy part 2.

Johnny Tran
I just want $300M. That's the # I'm rooting for. It deserves at least that much, the 300 club would be pretty cool.
