I'll take 7mil but I hope Wonder Woman does 7.5mil.

thats would be a 88% friday increase. i don't think that's remotely possible.

would love to be wrong though..

From where im sitting, 7M is looking too lofty a jump for friday.

But Father's Day deflated last Saturday, no? And WW has less competition this weekend.

It does somewhat, but the pertinent question is whether that actually makes up for how much Father's Day helps. I calculated the IMs for films in the top 10 of the weekend of FD going back to 2012 strictly for that that were greatly aided by FD (which I have chosen to define as dropping less than 5% on Sunday), and compared that to their IMs the following weekend

FD W/E Next W/E
2016
3.731958763 3.515625
3.792857143 3.364864865
4.017241379 3.186046512
2015
3.661628306 3.710006807
3.853982301 3.673469388
4.094594595 4
3.904109589 3.520833333
2014
3.609170306 3.262458472
3.761363636 3.436363636
2013
4.287671233 3.643678161
3.52173913 3.357142857
2012
4.031674208 3.244343891

The only film to see a stronger IM in the following weekend was Jurassic World, which was hindered by being in its second weekend. Most others lost at least a couple tenths, so I would expect @TalismanRing's 3.5 IM to be on the money for Wonder Woman.

What kind of IM did those movies have the weekend BEFORE Father's Day? That should give us a good idea whether FD inflated the weekend by a lot, and whether the next weekend fell below, or whether it was business as normal.

That must happen. Just imagine the meltdowns and outrage it would cause :sparta:

I'm pretty sure he would have given us a Megan Fox Wonder Woman.

He would have given us a 'Wonder Girl'

Michael Bay for Supergirl

Bay is the only one who can bring back Fantastic Four to life actually. Do it so differently that people forget the previous ones.

The whole bumblebee being geared towards kids thing kind pisses me off but oh well

Why?  They're movies about talking robots that transform into cars, they should be aimed at children.

They shouldn't be R-Rated flicks for mature audiences.

I'll look that up, but the problem is there a bunch of other things to consider, then: what films were openers the weekend before, was there an NBA finals game like there was for Wonder Woman's second Friday, some schools are out then if Father's Day falls later in the month, etc.

But then we have the same considerations the weekend after FD as well. There will always be some external factor to consider.

If WONDR does 26 weekend for 319+ cume, then it would need to add 3x more the weekend (3*26=~80) to do 400.

Would need to add about 2.7x more to go over GOTG2 (giving it a close to 390 total).

Listen I don't know what it's going to do but people always say that this is impossible for Wonder Woman to do and it does it. So who knows? As long as it has an under 50% drop I'll be satisfied.

So no scene of Bumblebee using his gearshaft on Hailey Stainfeld?

And not good for TF.   It seems like this weekend has kind of been a flop two years in a row for the opener.

You forgot Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, which is what Tele's Club is all about.

Good point, I knew I was forgetting something.:jeb!:

'Highest Superhero Debut in Fifteen Years' is still wonderful, given the success of the genre.
