Dunkirk Tuesday Numbers: Dunkirk 4.48...WW 575K

Studios should ask RT to publish the score after reaching a certain number of reviews..like 100

That only benefits movies that hide their reviews to their bad movies until the very last minute.

Also Emoji movie looks like it be stuck at 50 reviews forever, so it should NEVER get a score?

Stupid idea.

Yep, Google lie:)...mea culpa (but Piranha 2 is apparently not a google lie - but I forgive early outings to break in:)...

But I still don't think Navi are the equivalent strong material to build on like Skynet...just like we saw in Apes, GA folks will have a hard time getting truly involved in a series if it turns into them vs humans long term...the 1st movie had the 3d marvel for people to appreciate, the next few will have what?

Still at 50 reviews. The other critics don't want to torture themselves by seeing it.

Cameron does not have much data to go by. Since 1991, 4 films, three originals, 3 of which became highest grossing movie of their respective year and latest two sitting at #1 and #2 of all-time worldwide list. Also I have to read 1991 in THABOS again to see why T2 increased 434% from original.

You're doubting Cameron's ability to connect with general audiences after Titanic and Avatar? I would think by this point he has earned the benefit of the doubt more than any director outside of maybe Spielberg

Yes, I doubt the material...if you don't have the best starting material, your sequels don't have anywhere to go.  If he was making 4 premier movies, I'd never have a doubt, but I've seen this material already and know what he's got to work within...so I have doubts...

The 2nd movie will still probably sky (ala Matrix 2)...but then...

Actually he is first a director.

Actually the director thing is just ONE of his passion......

I m not a uber expert on cameron but i know a lot of thing about him....

i m 200% sure if he has to choose between directing and exploring the water invented  new technology he will choose the last ones...

So....

You can seriously think he would have made Avatar 2 3 4 5 before 2020 if he was not named JC...

A normal director would have rush the second avatar cause fox would have ordered him..... but not JC....

If he needs 15 years fox will give him 15 years .... why? cause he is JC. They know shit gonna happens no matter what you think....

I don t say Avatar 2 is gonna make 3b or 4 b at the box office but it will blow out for sure :)

JC creates new technology he loves and AFTER he does a movie which enjoy this tech that's how he works :)

Here is a simple test for the dipshit studios who think Rotten Tomatoes is a bad thing.....

Name a single movie that was ever hurt by good critics reviews or critics scores.

You can't?  Ok.

That means the only danger is a few movies getting caught up in mediocre to bad reviews.  I would say maybe 10% at most that end up in that range are there unjustly because they were ahead of their time or critics simply didn't get it.  Guess what?  That has always happened throughout the history of cinema and long before RT happened.

Basically the only thing that has changed is the studios can't trick the public into watching their garbage products and they are making better movies because of it.  Seems like a win for everyone except executives that have no talent and don't know what they are doing.

Mulan feels like an after-thought and not exactly one of Disney's animated films that screams for a live-action do-over. The '98 film wasn't even that big a hit (It did OK) or adored years after the fact like, say, Hocus Pocus. Feels more like a Pete's Dragon, a la "Fuck it... why not?"

I don't think there is a person under 35 who couldn't sing you "Make a Man Out of You."

Which still makes him a director first.

From wikipedia-

I don't see scientist written there.

THe first few lines in wikipedia are these one for me :

James Francis [2]Cameron[3] (born August 16, 1954) is a Canadian filmmaker, director, producer, screenwriter, inventor, engineer, philanthropist, and deep-sea explorer.

Scientist can be assimiled to inventor engineer or close too so i m not far off.... and wikipedia the man who wrote the article choose the order of his passions and job but fair it's your opinion not gonna change it have a nice night :)
