If everything goes perfectly, Panther, IW, Solo, and TI2 do $400M+, with the former breaking out. Everything else has potential to be $200M+ (AMATW, WIT, maybe Ralph 2), $100M+ (Magic Camp, Nutcracker), and $300M+ (Poppins)

2018 will be an amazing year for Disney and Box Office in general. What makes me sceptic though is that the huge competition may result in some "underperformances" we are not expecting. Or at least a lot movies may not reach their max potential.

As for the titles you mentioned:

I dont see Panther doing $400m. I can see a Deadpool like run but anything more feels difficult to me.

I also think that Han Solo may struggle a bit. It is exactly at 400m or thereabout in my mind right now. +-50m

I believe IW and I2 will do $400m though. The latter may pull even something bigger If everything goes right.

Neither do I but maybe who knows.

46.5 is a 24% bump from true Friday of 37.5. Better than DEADPOOL's bump from true Friday.

13.5 + 37.50 (2.78x) + 46.5 (+24.0%) + 25.5 (-45%) = 123.0 ... IT

12.7 + 34.64 (2.73x) + 42.5 (+22.7%) + 42.6 (+0.2%) = 132.4 ... DP

If OW is 123,

needs ~2.7x to beat HOMECOMING's dom.

2.44x for 300 dom.

So, ANNA2 is on 268 ww and at 285 ww it will have done 19x the prod budget (15) ww.

IT needs 665+ ww to beat that (19*35). If DOM does 300, what are the chances it goes above 665 ww with 365 os?

Even with 550 ww, IT+ANNA2 will come close to 850 ww on a combined prod budget of 50.

For the first time in years , decade even we have a horror movie in its true form, not the stuck in the house and house is haunted or family focused but a true horror film with humor and not needless sex or nude scenes to bring in audiences , finally an event horror movie , most of the theater in my crowd was thrilled with one saying when walking out at the end "finally they made a good horror movie "

I'm sure the movie is great but there's no need to dismiss all the good horror movies we had in the last few years even if they didn't do 100m OW.

Maybe you 're thinking of 5-10 years ago when Saw, Paranormal Activity and their clones were the only game in town.

I agree, I've liked the recent horror output. I hated the Found footage and torture porn crazes. It's good to have real horror movies in this era.

I feel if Universal had released Get Out in January instead of Split we could have had 2 $200 million horror movies that year.

GO definitely would have topped $200 million without the weekly onslaught of competition and losing theaters as its run progressed.

Very likely. Split should have been released later in the year over the holiday to increase the chance of James McAvoy's Oscars nomination as well.

Guys, this is a Goddamn R-rated horror movie opening to superhero tentpole heights. Fuck, MORE than that - it outopened Homecoming and Wonder Woman for God's sake. And it was a franchise movie with 13M in Thursday previews. It took a gigantic 51M on Friday, cherrypicked the real Friday numbers..... and then UPPED THEM ON SATURDAY.

Hit it, Freddie:

Also, wishful thinking but mayyyyybe Annabelle could go over 4M this weekend as double feature + spillover effect could actually help it a lot more than expected.
