I didn't say be nice to him. For me, this isn't even about Trump (I know he lives in everyone's heads rent free so the discussion always comes around to him). I was talking about the left's tactic of silencing/attacking/shaming anyone on the other side of the debate. So don't tell me to shut up. That's not how this works. Don't be like that.

Can we all take a current chill pill?  I come to the boards to lift up my day, not depress it.  And talking movies with a wide range of folks of all ages around the world is one of the coolest, most fun things to do in my day.  So, let's enjoy each other, and not bring each other down.  Most of us have enough bringing us down in real life...why add to it here?

Again. I wasn't defending Trump or even talking about him. I was talking about hilarious and pathetic Nancy Pelosi's speech ripping was (something that if Trump did you'd all be losing your minds over!) and then I called people celebrating it (remember, the speech included some really important things, even if a lot of it was BS) liberal sheep. Then I was told to shut up. It's not like I'm sitting here defending Trump's "grab her by the pussy" comment or something like that. Clearly only one opinion is allowed.

 

That right there is the problem in the divided West right now. Luckily, I and many other conservative folks are becoming wise to this act and it's not going to fly. So, no, I'm not going to shut up. You are becoming wise to the fact that there are people who would condone ripping apart a speech when you guys, yes you guys, created controversies of Obama eating Dijon mustard and wearing a tan suit.

 

So yeah, all you smart conservative folks can collectively shut up (which is what I am saying since saying the alternative which I am thinking isn't great like the alternative Pelosi said). All conservatives standing up behind this racist Orangutan in Chief is amazing.

I couldn't agree more, but more and more people on every side of everything just get worse and worse.  It's almost like everyone is fighting for best a hole.  It's why I rarely post and just read any more

And on the movie point...

 

So, I got to watch Die Hard with my kids today for my older boy's birthday.  And you know, after a little slow start, that movie is just as fun and cool as I remembered...and my kids did really enjoy the Yippee-Ky-Yay Motherfu..er lines and scenes...and all the Christmas themes in a movie that really just didn't need them, but somehow makes it better anyway:)...it may go onto the 2020 holiday list...

 

And damn, Alan Rickman...so creepy for so long, but then pulling out the American accent - I forgot that scene:)...

It's why I have a rule to get out and talk to people every day.  Every day you're in person with people, you realize how awesome they are when not behind a screen:)...and people are really awesome, especially when you give them the time and space to be...

Soooooooo true. I have to constantly remind myself of this. Every time I think the internet represents the entire world around me, I'm reminded, no, lots of times they're vocal minorities and most people are just like me (and good people, like you said.
