Never in my life have I been so repulsed by a movie.

Was Luke trying to have sex with that Porg's belly button??

Can't believe they also included that scene where Kylo Ren captured Luke and tortured him by covering him in feces.  That was way too much.  I appreciate Disney trying to give Johnson creative control but c'mon they have to draw a line somewhere.

However there was one golden line when Poe says, "You're tearing me apart, Finn!" as he discovers there's another man.

The casino chase scene is by far the best sequence in the entire film...and there are some great sequences (anything with Laura Dern - especially her final sacrifice) with the last act having stunning visuals...but, unfortunately, the film is far too long for its own good. A mini-King Kong where if it had been 30 to 45 minutes shorter, it would have been much more engaging. Dern was great, and so was Ridley.

DOMNHALL GLEESON IS ATROCIOUS.

Woah - how the hell will JJ/Terrio follow up on this.

It's hard to say a lot without giving anything away but 'this is not going to go the way you think' indeed. It feels so much like its own thing - which probably makes it my favourite of the three new ones. Only questions are story choices which directly affect the pacing but again - will be so interested to see how will JJ dig himself out of this ;)

Cast, score, cinematography are all on point too. Shame at no full IMAX sequences but OH WELL.

Apart from two masterpiece entries the SW franchise is very average in terms of films. Thought TFA was ok, whether you look at it as a nice homage or an unoriginal remake it's a matter of point of view, but it's not a bad film. Rogue One was meh, so my expectations weren't high for Jedi, but my Lord was I wrong. It's an awful film. Painfully long and a real mess. Did they trying to make a space version of Harry Potter. Such a letdown. 😕

Awesome, ballsy movie that will certainly have the fan base divided. It has some storytelling flaws, the 2nd act feels a bit long and one subplot (Finn/Rose/Del Toro) feels like its from another movie, but aside from that, it was everything i wanted.

I dont see this having the same great WOM that TFA had among the GA though.

I mean, I enjoyed the shit out of this when it was on. So that's a good start.

After the screening I had MANY questions which will probably remain unresolved, but I guess that's the nature of middle chapters. The lack of Snoke info was frustrating, like that HAS to be addressed in the next one right?

It will take a few viewings to really sink in but I think it's better than TFA, still not quite on a par with Empire, A New Hope etc which felt a little more refined. But we'll see, much to take in.

I wasn't too enthralled by The Force Awakens so perhaps that enters into why all the alleged mythology rape didn't bother me so much, but from a purely cinematic standpoint it's a far more entertaining, engaging, and satisfying film. Liked that it was given more room to "breathe" in the sense of the older Star Wars movies, and I imagine that was a reason a director with an indie/TV background like Rian Johnson was favored for the helm. But the action sequences were a lot of fun too, highlights being the climax and the Ren/Rey lightsaber fight. Sometimes the cutesy comic relief is overdone and it's afflicted by the epic blockbuster "false ending" syndrome, but I was genuinely shocked by how much I enjoyed this.

Hated most of it.  Liked some.  But the best way to sum it up is that Rian Johnson treats Star Wars the way Rob Zombie did Halloween.  He butchers the shit out of it.

Right now 5/10

This movie is fantastic. Instead of playing it safe like the crap they delivered in the Force Awakens there is real change here. Makes it exciting to think what is going to come after. They are never going appease all the fanboys. Without a doubt the best looking Star Wars film with some moments of absolute awe of cinematography coupled with the best battles and a great number of character moments. Best Stars Wars film to date.
