I change my mind after seeing Death Cure. Very emotional conclusion, that SHOULD have some legs. 

 

I like Marvel films, but this wasn't a Marvel film :). Real stakes.

 

Dylan O'Bien was my new Peter Parker, back when Sony fired Garfield. Movie star, chick magnet looks, chemistry with female co-star. They went another nerdy route :).

I mean, if you go in expecting it to be nonstop sex, then yes.

 

The point of the first 50 Shades was watching a modestly-budgeted experiment to see if everyone involved could find something of redeeming cinematic value in a re-purposed fanfic, and the point of the sequel is watching to see just how utterly disinterested characters can look while discussing or engaging in "kinky fuckery."

Maze Runner did our equivalent of 3.5M for matinees today at my theatre. Lowest I could seenit doing here is 9M Saturday, maybe 9.5-10

I completely forgot that another Maze Runner movie was on the way. I may not be part of their target audience (though I did watch the first two on HBO), but at least I felt a sense of buzz surrounding those films; that was decidedly not the case here.

Last night in Darkest Hour a Red Sparrow trailer came on and the old like 80 year old man behind me leans to his wife AFTER THE SCENE WHERE THE GUY WHO SAYS TAKE OFF YOUR DRESS IS MURDERED and is like 

 

"it's the new Fifty Shades of Grey movie"

I’d say the new Maze Runner is the 2nd best of the YA genre. First to me will always be Catching Fire but this had some moments that came close. The last third of this movie is impressive in terms of action, sets and visuals. I didn’t expect the film to be this good and I’ve liked the first 2 movies. (I have a weak spot for films being set in the end times and zombies)
