Diversity is the Key!

If Disney wants to bring Star Wars back from the dead they might want to re-think themselves.

The new Star Wars films are far more diverse than Black Panther. Main character is a female, the two secondary leads are black & south american "latino", plus other supporting mexican, black, women actors. There's also an age difference in the cast of 41 years, compared to 35 years in Black Panther.

They do. They have way more movies relating to the Avengers (characters) coming out in the next two to three years than for BP. There’s no script yet for BP 2. They need IW to be the winner.

In my opinion, of course.

You think they’ll be worried if bp makes 575MM but IW only makes 550MM. Really?

I think that is pretty much a given now. BP has no real competition for weeks. IW faces two competitors in May that will significantly weaken its legs. IW is certainly not the cultural event, either. Depending on reception to The Incredibles II, BP stands a great chance of being the highest grossing film of the year.

IW is a cultural event, just of a different sort.  For a number of reasons this is not just an Avengers sequel, there's more to it and more going on than just that.

The problem with expecting Panther to win 4 weekends in a row is that, even if it has Wonder Woman legs, which would be pretty much damn near impossible, it would do 48M for its 4th weekend, which is where i would say WiT will probably end up give or take a few million.

And thats IF it has Wonder Woman legs, which would pretty much guarantee 800M which just isn't happening

But all evil person were white men and Captain Phasma:lol:

And BP has a black director.

I think BP2 should get a summer release, probably May 2021 but it'd be cool to see it released in December, it's the only holiday month that Marvel hasn't done mostly due to Star Wars. If Aquaman does well in December, I could them trying it in 2022 or 2023 when there is no Avatar or SW films.

They won’t cry about it, of course. But I think they’d want the movie they’ve been building up to for 10 years and have multiple sequels planned for already to be their star.

I don’t think ”IW fails to match BP’s opening weekend/total gross” is their preference when it comes to headlines and public perception.
