Didn't like The Childhood of a Leader and this sounds like it carries over that movie's pretension but at least with more to chew on. Looking forward to the Scott Walker score, if nothing else.

Well, Neon has made sone eccentric choices thus far as a distributor, so I can't say I'm surprised. But whatever they choose to do with the film, I think they made a good choice.

 

(Maybe if they release it this year, they can surprise a whole lot of people and sneak it into Best Comedy/Musical at the Golden Globes.)

Neon probably going for the I Tonya kind of roll out and Awards consideration with less of a hook but so far better reviews.

If they put it in March/April instead of going for an end-of-the-year run then yeah it probably doesn't top 5 million. But then they also won't spend any money campaigning it for anything.
