It's 5:00, and Tallahassee is a city that revolves heavily around students and working class adults. However, given the former group is done for the semester......

This, around me all the showtimes after 7pm are nearly full. More full than the 6 & 6:30 ones

Also school isn't out until tomorrow here

Echoing Han...in my area (also in school), Aquaman is not selling out and is not on that many screens/showings vs other supers this year (so it should be selling them out)...

I'm expecting previews to add in the $2.9M from last weekend...without that early money, I'm thinking we would be certain to be in single digits for previews...with it, the movie might squeak just over...aka, in my area, it's not going big yet,..

Damn first Ralph now Poppins underperformance  Wonder if this means Disney will act humble in the future, or if they're gonna be vicious like a wounded animal.

Is there any possibility they instate something like no child/senior prices for their films and everyone has to pay premium prices? They already have rules about people with physical disabilities not getting discounts like they would for other films.

They waited too long to release a sequel for both films. The anticipation wears off and people are less hyped to see it. I think 4 years should be the minimum amount of time to release a sequel.

So the remake of Mary Poppin's flopping, and the original Miss Poppins voiced a character in Aquaman, a movie that's competing against the remake for the weekend crown (and will most definitely win)! looks like Ms. Andrews stays winning!

Had she returned to play Mary Poppins then we would not have the conversation of who is gonna win the holidays.

Where is The Grinch expected to finish at?

Right now I'm guessing 274-276. It should do really great the next few days then die off pretty quick after Wednesday next week.

Dec 23: $256m

Dec 30: $266m

Jan 6:   $271m

Jan 13: $273m

I really think Wednesday's MPR number is about as useful to predicting the rest of its run as Shrek 2's OD was. Yes, the number is very low so it's possible it's going to be a disappointment, but I'd still say it's equally as possible it's going to blow up over the proper holiday. There was never any reason for the audience of it to rush to see it yesterday. It's not a fan driven movie and families aren't gonna see movies right now.
