Looks like Pattman has a big role in this, since he had to drop out of another film due to scheduling:

I'm not sure if I'm happy about this. I was actually really hyped that Robert Pattinson was going to be in the sequel to The Souvenir.

edit: I'm guessing they could get Tom Hiddleston instead. He has been in every single one of Joanna Hogg's movies.

I think there is a Sci-fi angle here. its not a simple spy thriller. Wait till we get a trailer.

And your proof is.......................

What part of "Nolan had done many films with little or no Sci Fi element" don't you understand?

Yeah, him signing on was pretty weird since it would have been in the middle of Tenet's filming.

he signed on to that like 2 years ago.

anyway would be pretty funny if he just said fuck you to indie movies now and turned into a studio guy.

He signed onto the first Souvenir 2 years ago, which he then dropped out of. He signed onto Souvenir 2 during Cannes, so like last month. Or at least, it was reported he signed on during then.

no there were definitely articles during when the first one played at sundance that said pattinson was gonna be in the sequel. maybe it was just a verbal agreement at that point idk.

Quote

Robert Pattinson, who is in Cannes with his latest film Good Time, will star in the two-part movie The Souvenir along with Tom Burke, Ariane Labed and Richard Ayoade.

The female lead has not yet been cast. Burke will play the "untrustworthy man" in the first film, while Pattinson will take on the lead male role of the second film.

Ok, looks like I was wrong. Pattinson is going full blockbuster boy route it seems.

that doesn't compute. that building is Linnahall in Estonian capital Tallinn. I know cause I've been there. Unless they have something exactly the same in Ukraine (that I haven't seen in Kiev, Odessa and L'viv) , this ain't Ukraine.

It is Estonia, I don't think they are shooting in Ukraine.

maybe Estonia is standing in for Ukraine (which is silly with such a known landmark at least to the locals and tourists) or the writer of the article mixed up 2 countries lol.
