Been rewatching the MCU in preparation for Endgame, and having just finished Avengers, you can really feel how rough around the edges Phase 1 is, and how much it's evolved since then. Phase 3 has really just been nonstop quality.

Damn then wouldn't that mean she may become the first female director to have a film gross over $1 Billion?

You mean, female solo director? Or does this include movies with female co-directors? If the latter, then Frozen's Jennifer Lee (current Chief Creative Officer of WDAS) has already done it.

As I always say, ranking funny book movies will be a loosing proposition  10, 20, 30, 40 etc years from now ...

You d be ranking hundreds of movies ...

Oh, we're ranking?

Thor

Black Panther

Thor: Ragnarok

Captain Marvel

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Captain America: The First Avenger

Iron Man 3

Iron Man

Thor: The Dark World

Everything after that is mostly the same. Enjoyable, but nothing stands out.

Basically, the early, establishment films were good, and they've had a recent strong streak of introduction films. There's a few other standouts, too.

Since we are doing this, here is mine (ranked in order):

GOTG 2 (8/10)

Black Panther (7/10)

Captain America The First Avenger (7/10)

Iron Man (7/10)

Thor Ragnarok (7/10)

Captain America The Winter Soldier (7/10)

Civil War (6/10)

GOTG (6/10)

Ant-Man and The Wasp (6/10)

Ant-Man (6/10)

Iron Man 3 (5/10)

Captain Marvel (5/10)

Dr Strange (5/10)

Spider-man Homecoming (5/10)

Infinity War (4/10)

The Avengers (4/10)

Avengers AOU (3/10, was 6/10 first viewing in cinemas)

Thor 2 (3/10)

Anything I didn't list, I didn't watch (or at least the whole way through) and as you can see, I don't like the Avengers movies. They feel more like events for people who care about the universe as a whole and remember every sequel. I am not the kind of person. I like most of the films but also find quite a bunch of them to be forgettable (find everything Ant-Man onward in my rankings to be forgettable although I quite enjoyed both Ant-Man movies).

And here are the super-hero movies I love:

Spider-man 2: 9/10

TDK: 9/10

Spider-verse: 8/10

Batman Begins: 8/10

Spider-Man: 8/10

GOTG 2: 8/10

Wonder Woman: 7/10

Black Panther: 7/10

Anything else in the 7/10 range of my MCU ranking, I quite like and anything in the 6/10 range I like. Everything below is whatever.

Do I dare to ask all of you to rank the 2 major superhero brands ?

Or Did I just crap in the well ?

If you asked that question before 2010, the answer is obviously Batman and Superman and almost all will agree. Now, I'm not so sure anymore. I have this feeling that Iron Man and CA are now on par with Batman and Superman. How times have changed.

Captain America : Best Superhero Trilogy ever.

:shades::rock:

TWS is excellent, and Civil War is pretty good but I never got the First Avenger love. That always felt like a missed opportunity to be great like the first Iron Man, and just ended up being pretty fine
