30 Million projection for OW. Not good for a 160 Million dollar movie. Will almost certainly come in third place behindd Barbieheimer.

Disney wont' get a POTC style franchise out of this movie.

This will be the second Theme Park Ride movie in a row that will be a bust for Disney; they lost a lot of money on Jungle Cruise; it made 220 million worldwide with a break even point of at least 400 Million for production costs alone, n to including marketing costs which would add a lot to the red.

I would say that maybe Theme Park Ride based movies are not exactly  a good bet. Yes, they rolled a seven on POTC  but rolled snake eyes on almost all the other Theme Park basee movies. Not good odds.

At which it will fail , badly.

Irony is The Haunted Mansion is my favorite ride at Disenyland Anaheim, but I have no desire to see this. Will proably watch it when it hits Disney Plus, since I am paying for Disney Plus anyway, and can always watch something else if I don;t like it and not be out the price of a ticket.

I know Jungle Cruise was technically a failure but it also released in 2021. I think it would have done much better, specially overseas, with no pandemic. Maybe somewhere around Rampage...

In addition to releasing in 2021, it released on Disney + premiere and made a good chuck of money that way as well.  Looks like it was reported $66M in the first 30 days.  While it still no doubt lost money, at least it is not as bad as just lookin at the box office amounts.

Wait ... isn't the hatbox ghost in the Haunted Mansion? Isn't that why it was included in the movie?

Anyway, this movie feels like even the people who watched it forgot it existed. Disney will try again in 2043.

It's in DisneyLand but not World's. There was a big todo about putting it in World in the Parks community to the point where I thought it was put there like...3 months ago.

Will we even be alive in 2043?
