I thought his mother sacrificed her soul to Mephisto as a part of a ritual and Doom eventually gained the right to try and free her from Mephisto's realm/plane once per year.  That's why he's so driven to seek power, or became the reason at some point (because comics).

But I agree, the Doom we have seen so far on screen is an total failure. But then you can say that about the Fantastic Four also.

In the comics, The GOTG and Carol Danvers run into each other a lot. Wonder if that will happen here.

But yeah, CM should be primarily space based. Danvers is trying to be sort of a one woman Green Lantern Corps in the Marvel Comics Universe.

I mean it's the one sequel in phase 3 where the director changed and for the better. Hoping for similar things here. Let's see some one take Carol into a different direction. Breath some life into her character.  Too many of these female heroes play the straightman.

MCU after Endgame just doesn't have that feel for solo outings. After seeing crossovers for a decade straight, now we're going to see some solo one's, ugh. 

 

The most interesting one's like Dr Strange and GOTG are teamups, Thor 4 because he's the only remaining member of trinity. 

 

BW, ugh.....SC, who??..... Eternals, well they have a big cast, but that's about it.

 

One big point about MCU was that all the storylines and characters were going to converge in common Avengers movies.

Now that point is gone, what now? Just some bunch of movies and characters going on to do their own things and maybe a cameo or two, that's it? It that all?

I mean, did you care about Iron Man before Iron Man 1? Cap before Cap 1? Thor before Thor 1? A lot of arcs just came to a close, and new ones are beginning, but it’s still going to lead to the big teamup/crossover movies and ultimately some kind of huge conclusion to the 2nd saga.

Feige has already said there is a masterplan to bring them all together. You really think they aren't going to do big, team up movies with these new characters given that the Avengers franchise is the biggest singular franchise in the world?

Some are saying this is Mini Avengers movie like Civil War. 

Some are saying Hulkling will debut in this movie.

The weirdest thing is we will not see Captain Marvel and Black Panther till 2022.

 

Did it ever happen before? BP and CM are said to be the main characters of MCU and we will have to wait for such a long time.

Captain Marvel very likely is going to cameo in the Ms Marvel show.
