If we compare with others asian markets, China without COVID would have make $300M more and maybe $100M more with Russia, Ukraine and others markets hurts by COVID. So in normal conditions, maybe $2,75B-$2,8B final ? Very similar to AEG and Avatar 1st run

do we have enough data to assume avatar 2 would have only made 550 million in china instead of the 700 most seemed to expect?

Well you can never be fully accurate when dealing with a "what if" scenario but it would appear that enough comparable SE Asian markets are about 20-30% behind Endgame in admissions, so once you adjust for ATP that would be somewhere in the 500's.

China has seen (and was seeing even before covid) more of a shift towards local industry than a lot of those comp markets. I have it about 450-525 which is not much different.

It is not really the shift, but more like the BO growth in lower tier inland city that favour local content heavily. But yeah, double of what it is doing right now if wasn't for Covid-19 which is a huge different.

Europe - $642.5M/ 60.51M Admits [CIS, Middle-East, Africa not Included]

Latin America -  $169M / 40.72M Admits

Do you think $700M in Europe and $200M in LA are possible ?

Yeah looks like it's out on admits. Probably clinging on by gross since it should have some higher prices from 3D, but it'll be out next weekend at this point.

So $31M-$32M final run for A2 after $170M for A1 ... Where are my $140M Japan ?

On 08th Jan: 498.8M

On 15th Jan: 565.2M

On 19th Jan: 610.4M

On 29th Jan: 642.5M

Supposedly, This weekend will be 20M+ & Weekdays have been 10M, So it will be touching 670M+ already. 700M seems very much possible, once you add CIS states in.

In LA though, 128M --> 148M ---> 160M ----> 169M. This Weekend result will put it around 176M+  200M looks tough because Antman unlike in Europe will completely shut it down in LA markets.

It goes to show that Japan has a great taste in movies. Can't shove any old garbage down their throat.

So you agree with the good folks of Japan that A2 is better than Interstellar?
