This is potentially the worst thing that’s ever happened on a NFL field. Horrifying.

Not the same thing as this, and perhaps before your time, but I'm reminded of when Astros manager Larry Dierker collapsed in the dugout after suffering a grand mal seizure back in 1999 and had to be taken away with an ambulance.  The game was rightfully postponed as NO ONE was in the right mind to continue with the game.

The longer they take to make the postponement announcement, the worse this looks.

I would think it has to be Cardiac related. Some type of trauma induced cardiac arrest. They were apparently doing CPR for quite some time.

🙏

Prayers for both him and his family.

Doctors have been speculating that it was Commotio Cordis, which normally is a ball or puck to the chest that leads to exactly what you saw on the field.  Prayers up for Damar Hamlin and his family.

Never heard of it, so looked it up … and there’s less than 30 cases are reported each year - really a freak occurrence

I wasn’t watching live (kids wanted to watch Shazam, so I was going to catch-up later), but seeing the slow response from the NFL in the aftermath leaves something to be desired

does anyone know where you find theater counts on BOM these days?

You mean for the current releases? It's on the daily and weekend charts.

Where can I find theater count charts?

Box office charts for theater counts are now available exclusively on IMDbPro.

https://help.imdb.com/article/imdbpro/industry-research/box-office-mojo-by-imdbpro-faq/GCWTV4MQKGWRAUAP?ref_=mojo_ftr_help#theatercount

Alternative:

The-numbers has a tag where you can search news stories that have theater counts:

This is the December '22 Tag: https://www.the-numbers.com/news/tag/theater-counts/2022-12

And the, as of yet, Empty Jan '23 tag: https://www.the-numbers.com/news/tag/theater-counts/2023-1

That's for current releases though, not upcoming releases.  BOM used to have a chart exclusively detailing TCs back in the good ol days like thus:

Quote

June 11
Updated Thursday afternoons

Rank LW Title Distributor Theater Count / Change Week #
1 2 Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Warner Bros. 3,855 0 2
2 1 Shrek 2 DreamWorks 3,843 -288 4
3 3 The Day After Tomorrow Fox 3,210 -234 3
4 - Garfield: The Movie Fox 3,094 - 1
5 - The Stepford Wives Paramount 3,057 - 1
6 - The Chronicles of Riddick Universal 2,757 - 1
7 - Around the World in 80 Days Buena Vista 2,612 - 0
8 5 Raising Helen Buena Vista 2,103 -618 3
9 4 Troy Warner Bros. 2,003 -747 5
10 6 Van Helsing Universal 1,034 -1,025 6

(internet archive example randomly chosen via a Google link)

That sort of TC only chart isn't available for us pleebs anymore, apparently.

Yup, BOM used to have that one. For the upcoming ones, I just rely on the estimates box office accounts on Twitter usually post.
