So hyped to see it's LATAM preformance, I mean if this has great WOM it will have the market for itself for a few weeks, should be absolutely insane.

Here in Argentina presales have been bigger than any CBM of 2023, and on par with Fast X, which is the most attended movie of the year so far.

EDIT; Fast X is the second most atteneded. Mario is N°1.

Just looked at some screenings here in Panama for July 20 and basically all is sold out minus a couple of front seats.

One of the biggest markets in Central America, hopefully every country in the region will replicate the success.

Anticipation among friends and coworkers is huge, every girl looking for pink clothes and nails haha

Looking at my own market, the pre-sales are very strong for Thursday and Friday. Thursday in particular has lots of near- and practically sold out shows. Friday is also looking good. The matinees for Saturday and Sunday haven't sold much but those tend to be walk-up driven time slots anyway. The evening shows for Sat and Sun are looking promising. So, all in all, I would expect a decently strong opening at the very least, and possibly stronger depending on WOM. And I guess this applies to the rest of Europe as well...

Pre-sales here in Indonesia look really strong. Wednesday, its opening day, being a public holiday also helps. Usually only big action blockbuster or superhero movies, or sometimes horror (like Insidious or the Conjuring franchise) have strong pre-sales, and Barbie is far from those genres, but here we are.

Is Barbie's appeal THAT strong globally or are people overseas just following USA's lead?

Check Google trends,Barbie is popular 3X than Spiderman globally and 4X Avengers, even in Asia

Probably is unbelievable that Barbie is even popular in Africa.

Barbie is the Really Global Brand.

Same here for Malaysia. They bring forward the release date last minute to Wednesday to capitalize the public holiday and the presale has been strong. Worth noting that the presale here in Malaysia skew strongly morning and noon, suggest that many perceive Barbie as a kid-friendly family movie, rather than a PG-13 romantic comedy. The only downside is the zero PLF. Those will be belong to Oppenheimer (IMAX) and MI7.
