We already know is a major event, like you said on the last page there’s people in lines to buy it and we discussed on the weekday thread about potential impact on BO, but until there’s something factual about box office numbers related to it, i think this is really getting too off-topic.

Remember long movies get extra showings on Saturday and GOTG 3 is one of the longest in MCU. It wouldn't shock me with 75+% jump on Saturday instead of 88% by the user.

Get what you’re saying, but how will we “factually” prove any of it though? That would be the whole point of discussing it, because there’s nothing else we can do. And what if I told you that I’m thinking so many taking the day off might actually help box office, not hurt it…

Ehhhh, i mean, it’s not *that* long. Shorter than WF which had +60%. Personally if fri goes well (which looks likely) I would take under on a +70

I'm not predicting 75% jump but how it could realistically do 70M for the weekend like the user you had quoted. 

 

4th longest movie only behind EG, WF and Eternals could be potentially beneficial on Saturday jump and Sunday hold.

They're almost definitely doing some double feature nonsense with GotGV3 to get creative with those numbers. Surprised they're didn't just push it to 215M DOM honestly. 

 

They're very different movies but they are both Disney... With that, I wouldn't be shocked if we see some of this with Guardians and Little Mermaid too. It'll absolutely happen with Elemental and Little Mermaid as those two pair together well.

Just in case you don’t mean as a joke (assume you do), Breath of the wild can also be beaten just as shortly, but most still put hundreds of hours into it anyways. You don’t play these to “beat” the main story lol.
