Final day was solid but nothing crazy. I expect walkups at other MTC to be stronger. It did just around 3% higher than afterlife minus early shows. Thinking around 4.25m previews and mid to high 30s OW.

Frozen Empire has debuted few hours ago with 86% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. On par with Kung Fu Panda, which means it may also get a score at the A range on Cinema Score (KFP4 86% RT, A- Cinema Score)

 

I told you @Porthos audience score would be great, didn’t I?

 

Out of last 4 Ghostbusters movies, critics only gave once a really good score to a GB sequel, this was to 2016 GB female reboot (75% on RT). And guess what, that was the only sequel that had a rotten score from audience (49%) lol 

Guess what, there were no verified audience scores on RT in 2016. 
 

Back on topic: $600k would be great for Immaculate!

Anyways, walkups pretty bad for Ghostbusters tonight. But pre-sales were pretty strong, so I’d say that 4-4.5M is still possible. But I’d likely rule out 40+ for the weekend if walkups continue at this pace.

 

Interesting that you saw stronger sales in ypur area. I've been underindexing huge in mine. I assumed it might have been a Canadian thing, but it might just be local.

 

What's the March Break situation on your side? Were schools closed this week or last week?

Had only sold 21 tickets before yesterday... that has to be the biggest jump in one day that I've ever seen.  I looked back at the Soul and Turning Red releases and they were both under 600k for the full weekend.  This looks like it's getting the same size release, but I wouldn't be surprised if it passes those on Saturday.  I'll go with 450k for Friday.

 

(If anyone tracked the other two, how did sales look? I was offline for six months and didn't keep up with anything.)

Wait, Luca is supposed to make $450k this Friday?

When Soul made $121,631 on its first Friday and Turning Red made $160,433? Basically almost 3 times as much as those movies? Just find that hard to believe. But we'll find out on Saturday I guess.

 

EDIT: However, Luca tickets on OW seem to be $5 across the board unlike Soul and Turning Red's OW tickets being full price...
