I have to whine a little bit ;). I invested so much time today for almost nothing, namly search for comps which were not telling for Garfield and IF (and will not repeat it and stick to counting films in their release week) but now, the best of the day: 

 

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, counted today for Thursday, had fine 1.229 sold tickets (of course in all of my 7 theaters). Best sales in the AMC in LA (434) but also doing good in NY (e.g. The Fall Guy had 1/2 of the sales of the Apes in NY). 

 

Comps (all films counted for Thursday): The Fall Guy (2.35M is the right number without EA, no?) had on Wednesday of the release week 865 sold tickets = 3.3M + 1 day left.

JWD (18M) had also on Tuesday 3.483 sold tickets = 6.35M.

GxK (10M - rather 9M as @charlie Jatinder told us) had also on Tuesday 1.437 sold tickets = 8.55M (so in fact 7.7M).

And Uncharted had on Wednesday 1.062 sold tickets = 4.3M + 1 day left.

 

So over 4M for sure from my theaters ☺️.

Yes, no Early Access. I was also surprised. Of course I will count it tomorrow too. It still needs decent jumps but GxK finally (= on Thursday for Thursday) had 2.015 sold tickets. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes could reach around 80% (that's my goal ). But will it have the same walks-ups?

I do not think I will be able to give a T-1 hour for the EA tomorrow, so I am planting my flag at around $1.25 Million. In terms of screenings it is very similar to Fall Guy; Ungentlemanly did not have PLF, so ATP was a lot lower, and Mean Girls had considerably less screenings.

 

Despite EA continuing to draw sales, Thursday actually keeps rising against comps. I would not be surprised to see the average end up over 4. Good stuff!

An expected come-down from yesterday. The Fall Guy had pretty abysmal Monday sales last week, hence the absurdly high comp number. It started gaining more traction over the coming days, whereas Apes only grew a little bit from yesterday. This feels much more in range with some of the other estimates in this thread, so I'm glad it balanced out a bit.

 

Still, as is, these figures (not even factoring Early Access, which I decided not to track) would be a pretty damn good result.

Compared to literally every other market, looks like Sacto is running *VERY* hot.   Enough so that if Fandango wasn't being utter ass right now, I'd do a re-check.

 

Could be that EA is very strong locally and that's putting a bit more of a thumb on the scale.  Or maybe we just like apes here.

 

Since Fandango has been so horrible lately haven't been doing spot checks the last couple of nights, so no idea about pace.  Know more tomorrow.  

 

I expect these comps to go down, and quite a bit, but could just be that this is popular in Sacramento for whatever reason.
