It's not the most imaginative choice, but I wouldn't be opposed to Campbell. After Skyfall's 1 billion haul they probably have their sights set higher though.

higher? why?? Casino Royale was much better than Skyfall.

I disagree, but it doesn't matter - both times they hired Campbell it was to rescue the franchise and bring it back down to Earth. That's not what's needed after Skyfall, and they know it.

Still, I like GE and CR a lot so I certainly wouldn't mind him being hired. But I'm not holding my breath.

He's so underrated. I was watching DH2 last night. He absolutely nailed the characters.

Yep-I was thinking how awesome it be if he managed to do the 2 biggest British movie franchises ever.

I'd like to see Bigelow take a crack at it. They have to follow in the huge footsteps of Skyfall and Mendes, and having Bond's first female director wouldn't be a bad way to do that. Especially one as qualified as her.

Martin Campbell is from New Zealand (so is Lee Tamahori, but I think we'd all rather forget Die Another Day). Marc Forster is German-Swiss. And it's not part of the "official" series, but Never Say Never Again was directed by an American (Irvin Kershner).

I'd love to see this happen. It'd be a very interesting turn of events.

I'd love to see Boyle take a crack at Bond as well.

I think Michael Apted could possible direct as well. I think Yates, Branagh (maybe in exchange for financing one of his indie films), or Joe Wright would also be interesting choices. Not very probable though.

Didn't Apted direct the World is Not Enough? Edited by DAR

I think it would be a mistake to bring in a previous Bond director. From a marketing point of view it would be a regressive step. Rightly or wrongly, Skyfall is seen as an improvement on previous Bonds. To use a former Bond director is looking like a step backward.

A big name director is needed to push the Bond box office forward. Christopher Nolan would be awesome. He would bring his vision to the next Bond film as well as increased media interest and the fans of his own movies.
