As far as I'm concerned, this contest is OVER and both TDKR and TASM lose this big time.. WB Execs have to be weeping right now over this along with Nolan... MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

It's looking good for you BKB, I will LOL forever if TA beats TDKR this summer.

Why would they be weeping?

Oh right, you think TDKR will bomb. Sorry.

And I know now I don't belong in this Universe, where one can not simply like Batman, Avengers and Spider-Man. Or Nolan and Cameron.

I just finished reading about 75 or so pages. Took me 2 fucking hours but the reading was worth it. Noctis meltdown over TA passing DH2 was epic.

MIssed that, but then again, I didn't go through every page :P

According to BOM, 3D accounted for 52% of the OW gross. IDK how they came up with that figure since Sunday hasn't even finished yet, but assuming it's true and that the average 3D ticket is 30% higher than an average 2D one we get0.52*200.3=104.156104.156/(7.83*1.3)=10.310.3 + ( 0.48*200.3)/(7.83)= 22.57M TICKETSALL TIME OW TICKET SELLERS1. The Avengers: 22.57M2. The Dark Knight: 22.06M3. Spiderman 3: 21.96M4. Dead Man's Chest: 20.71M5. Spiderman: 19.77M6. The Hunger Games: 19.48M7. Deathly Hallows P2: 19.21M8. New Moon: 19.04M9. Shrek The 3rd: 17.6710. Breaking Dawn P1: 17.42MSo only 4 films have sold more than 20M tickets OW, 3 of which are superhero films. Another thing to note is that TDKR rises would have to sell about 25.58M tickets to break TA's OW record. That would be an unprecedented increase that I think is almost impossible to do.

Yeah, we blew by Friday's numbers and we are only 400 from yesterday's total now. But, there are only a total of 290 tickets left in the last two shows. Still, that's crazy to come that close. Especially with two fewer shows today.

BOM gave estimates for IMAX 3D and other premium formats as well, which are higher priced and included in that 52% figure. Avengers sold 20.9M tickets not 22.57. Edited by spizzer

So TA does beat TDK's OW in admissions as well? Simply phenomenal. I knew in the last few weeks it was headed for something big but I never ever expected this. So damn happy I could cry. :(

Nope, it doesn't

Also, the average 3D ticket price is $11.18. Not $10.30. The Consumer Report listed it as $10.85 in 2011

I thought you had TA over 21M admissions.

DMC's OW was truely phenomenal. It's still the highest OW ticket seller for a non-superhero movie and well ahead of Shrek 3 for the highest OW that's isn't an adaption of a book/comic series....pretty crazy. And idk if we'll ever have enough evidence to prove that TA sold more/less tickets than TDK. It's certainly right around that range though.....
