thx, I assumed, but do you know how BOM declares it for sure? I think they add Fridays always no matter the habits / customs of the country tha are listing there

Not only that. Sometime there are 5-days-OWs and they count it as an ordinary OW. BOM is not exactly reliable when it comes to OS BO. Studios will also report the OW as a 3-4-5 day, because they are interested in the headlines. But Corpses's OW articles, which are posted here by Olive, always report on the 2-day Japanese OW. It's good to keep that in mind for comparison's sake.

Talking particularly about RO, the overall drop will likely be bigger that in the rest of the world, which is s surprise. Corpse is expecting around 40m, which is down almost 60% from TFA's 98m. Of course, it's all dependent on WOM. FB was initially expected to do 60m max. Not it is locked for that and will go for 70s or even more.

I know they do it for a lot of films, but I never checked if they do it for all films.

For me it is the other way around, I have no idea why people have so high expectations, especially in OS.

For the moment is is still around what I thought as max. possible for OS OW especially considering the partly non existing (or very wrong placed) advertising...

I thought certain Asian countries -70%, English ~ -50%, a few Europe and other countries ~ - 70% to -65%, some other Europe and elsewhere up to -55-60%.... (always excluding the English speaking countries)

After realising the higher than average part of rotten reviews out of Spanish speaking regions I got concerned about translation problems, so middle and south America ???

China???

Final ideas are depending far too much on how people will react to the changed genre-mix (not every person who loves a space opera loves a war film too,... children,...) and some other details

I know as soon as I learned about that I lost a lot of interest into SW R1, I will watch it (because I pre-bought the tickets), but probably only once and than later on disc for the foreign/original language experience (for me English is the foreign language) later on.

Not a film I want to re-watch immediately and drag my family or friends with. If it is as I read between the lines here (Ill see it next Wednesday), it is IMHO impossible to even guess without having seen it.

I think it was extasy who said: no one expected Ant-Man to do Avengers' numbers.... That in essence was my POV since a long time.

Is this Your Name's first big drop?

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has edged out cousin Star Wars: The Force Awakensin its first Tuesday hold overseas — percentage-wise. With $16M yesterday, Disney/Lucasfilm’s standalone franchise spinoff saw a 1.3% increase in offshore markets versus its Monday ticket sales tally. Last year, on TFA’s first Tuesday, that film dipped by 1% from the Monday.

...

The UK, which has seen a big exchange rate swing since last year, continues to lead offshore play and rose to $28.2M after a $3.5M Tuesday (up from Monday’s $3.1M). Germany was also up over the two-day period ($1.4M v $1.2M) with a cume of $15M. Australia too rose ($1.5M v $1.3M) for a total at $13.7M.

France had the 2nd best day of all offshore markets with $2M (another jump from Monday) and is tied with Australia at $13.7M. Japan is the No. 5 market at $9.8M to date.
