Neo

It | Sept. 8, 2017 | Warner Brothers | Andy Muschietti directing. Trailer on Page 12 NO SPOILER DISCUSSION. Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes

I Am Legend and World War Z were marketed as action movies, so despite the labeling on BOM, I would consider Signs to be the top straightforward horror opener.

At this stage, a massive opening for It is inevitable. There's palpable anticipation for the release even though it's still three weeks away, and it will be able to bulldoze everything in its path. Even though I certainly won't be disappointed if it "only" opens in the 50s, I think It's opening above Signs's $60.1 million mark.

a review.

apparently it's not good.

Two guys I've never heard of say it's not good. Movie's going to be a failure confirmed. Under TDT DOM and RT. And did these guys not break an embargo ?it-the-clown-o.gif

apparently clickbait

? what do people mean by that ?

They didn't saw the movie at all or are giving not an honest review of what they saw just to get attention (a good review would have also worked for clickbait I think, maybe worked better)

I don't take any positive or negative early reviews too seriously right now. I don't know if they are even real so I don't see either as indicative of anything.

People were saying that the early word on Pirates 800 and Hitman's Bodyguard were good and both got crap reviews. Good or bad I'm only going to take actual reviews after the embargo as fact of what the reviews will be. Of course that doesn't mean that I'll agree with those reviews one way or the other.

Someone needs to fill me in on just what is behind all the insane hype for this. My feelings seeing the trailer were that it looked like a fairly decent horror movie but not something more than that. The director has one competent movie to his resume; certainly nothing here indicates to me that this will become some new classic.

It's the source material.  The book is a lot more loved that I thought it was.  I thought I was the only person in the world who loved it that much.  Apparently I was wrong.
