As a disturbing amount of people have been ranting relentlessly this past few months- TASM was unnecessary.- Trailers looked like shit.- Main villain looked like shit.- There was no anticipation.- There were no sellouts.- Nobody knew it was opening on a Tuesday.7.5M is clearly a win.

Thank you and and a lot of twisting and turning from some. You wanted meltdowns, gentlemen? There's plenty here and I'm sure that you all can serve yourselves. :lol:

Exactly. IT's hilarious how so many people are changing their tune. ASM is an unnecessary film that will likely suck and has no interest and will likely be DOA. That is what people were saying just a week ago. Now people are saying "Ohh, ASM is such a hugely anticipated film so it should have done way better". Sheesh

I think it's a very solid number and likely signals a run similar to the first Transformers. However, Sony's spin on this is laughable. They lied about one of their own movies. SM3 made $10m in 2007 without 3D prices and with roughly 220 fewer IMAX screens than TASM. Edited by redfirebird2008

There are no meltdows. The number ir pretty much in the middle of expectations.

Agreed.Neo, could you update us with your estimates/prediction having the midnight as your guide?

I still like my predicts that is a 33M for today and 156M for the holiday.

yup.... the number of people that joined MM over TASM OD was indeed disturbing and clearly shows that many weren't expecting 7M+ midnights.And now that it has done it, the number is 'meh'? lol.
