Where are you guys getting this idea that midnights were discounted? :huh:Discount Tuesdays generally only apply for actual Tuesday shows. Midnight shows are rarely, if ever, discounted.

Midnights have premium prices in some areas and I've never heard of discount Tuesdays applying to midnight. I wouldn't put any stock in spinning the number based on either scenario until there's actual confirmation. More than likely, any supposed discounts are nullified by the places that actually charge more for midnight. But I doubt there are many of either.

No crow for anyone. Its a decent number but nothing earth shattering. Its below SM3 which did not have 3D premiums or the number of IMAX screens to help it but it is a Monday night so a lot of people won't go.It's decent just like the movies box office gross will be. So everyone calm down.

To be fair, it's Monday during July when kids are out of school. SM3 came out on a Thursday night in early May when teenagers and college kids were still in school. It is a solid start for sure and I think Baumer's club is dead, but it's not "stellar" like Sony is spinning right now.

IMO, the under 200 club is dead at this point. I'm thinking something around 250m domestically now. The midnight number is very "meh", neither stellar nor horrible. That's probably how the entire run for TASM will go.

Once you account for Discount Tuesday prices hurting the gross and then also account for 3D prices helping the gross, $7.5m is very likely what it would have made as a 2D Wednesday release. Solid start. Baumer's club is in trouble.
