John Marston
don't get why they are waiting so long for domestic release. January 11 would be a good release date and allow it to hold well the following weekend thanks to the MLK 4 day holiday. Weird decision from Universal
shayhiri
Yes, extremely stupid. Especially opening right AFTER Alita. This is what will undo them. Also torrents and spoilers. But mainly Alita. Edited January 2, 2019 by shayhiri
The Futurist
These movies have been humiliating Pixar for ten years now. 3

Weird decision from Universal I think even studios themselves were worried about Poppins being a massive juggernaut. At least where it is it has 2 weeks to itself before Cap Marvel. But yea, with the benefit of hindsight, Jan 11 would have been a much better date.
Eric the Fall Guy
I think Uni made the right call in the States tbh. If it came out next week, families would have already spent so much on all the holiday offerings that interest would probably be lower. Also helps that it will have two weeks of IMAX all to itself instead of one if it opened on the 11th.

Darth Lehnsherr
Pretty much went the way I expected but still had me emotional at the end. I liked it more than the 2nd but not as much as the 1st.

MrFanaticGuy34
Excellent RT-ratings so far. Just please, HTTYD3. Don’t disappoint me embarrassingly in terms of box office like KFP3 did. I am begging for this film to be a breakout hit this time.
Brainbug
The trailer for this looked glorious in the theater. Will still kinda underperform i think. 140-170M DOM, 500M+ WW me thinks. Its been 5 years since Part 2 and nine since the first one.
Godzilla
I’m really excited for this. I loved both the HTTYD films especially the first one and can’t wait to see how it’ll end. Around $500 million would be good.

TMP
First two were incredible, and the first is tied with The Lego Movie for me in terms of best animated films of the decade
CJohn
Coming out right after President's Day weekend seems like a particularly dumb decision.
