I'm hoping for some big money for big D, I'm going to be cheerleading this.

Reviews are great. This one was going to draw a harsh eye from critics given it's arguable the most unnecessary sequel imaginable. The fact the reviews are as glowing as they are is pretty miraculous.

Very similar reception to...

...Snowpiercer. Which is essentially the last movie of its kind with an auteur filmmaker at the helm.

RT score dipped below 95%. Pre-sales have come to a screeching halt as a direct result.

Not to be picky, but this only refers to MovieTickets.com online presales, right?  And War for the Planet of the Apes had the hugely publicized $4 TMobile deal on Atom this summer, so it would have had lower presales in MovieTickets.com vs Blade Runner 2049 which doesn't currently have a TMobile Atom ticket deal (unlike MLP:))...

Fandango tickets came with an offer for a limited edition Blade Runner bobblehead thing...haha, I let everyone else decide how much that may have swayed people to Fandango over movie tickets.com.

Are the reviews saying you need to watch the first before seeing 2049? My cousin has never seen it, she asking me if she needs to.

I've seen some say it's easy to follow for anyone who hasn't seen the first but anyone who has will appreciate it the most.
