This movie looks so bad...what the hell happened to Legendary Pictures??  It keeps making trash after trash !

Legendary has gone downhill since they split with Warners. Losing the DC franchise hurt them a lot, and that their boss quickly alienated his new partners at Universal did not help matters.

His claiming credit for "Jurassic World" really angered the management at Universal. All the major creative decisions had been made when Legendary  came on board..and that was strictly as an investor;they were allowed to put up some of the money for the film. It's like the president of a Bank claiming credit for a movie when they had nothing to do with the actual making of the film;all they did was to loan the money.

Right now Legnedary has the whole "Monster Universe" with Kong, Godzilla, and the rest of the Toho gang, and that is about it.

Legendary has Godzilla, King Kong and Jurassic Park that its working on. They're also producing the pikachu movie. Yes it's less impressive than it was with WB where they worked on every single major WB movie but they're doing OK.

It's also fair to say they put out their fair share of turkeys with Warners. Wrath of the Titans? Sucker Punch? Jack the Giant Slayer? Jonah Hex? 10000 BC? The Ant Bully? Lady in the Water? These were all regarded as rubbish movies and they all bombed...

Legendary has almost no involvement with the creative side of the JP franchise. They are allowed to invest their money, and that is it. It's a good investement ,yes, but their involment with the actual making of the movie is almost nil.

And Kong and Godzilla are part of the same "Monster Universe" franchise.

Pacific Rim was missing that human element that TF had, Sam with his car and his parents, even though they were irritating. PAC RIM 2 needs a human element with a tragic story also add a Bullock, Neeson, Tatum, Bale, Close or Saldana.

This advance screened earlier today. A colleague of mine went (by skipping work from the looks of it) because he was a big fan of the first movie. His reaction to me when I asked him how it was - "they Independence Day:Resurgenced it". Probably the first and last time Indepedence Day Resurgence will be used as a verb.
