I also preferred Inglourious Basterds. I tend to prefer the Tarantino films that are more drama-oriented than action-oriented (that's not to say Django doesn't have great drama - it does).

Basterds is more stylish and classy, but Django is funnier and has SLJ/Waltz/DiCaprio. I still go with Basterds

While Django is an immensely entertaining film, Basterds is superior. Django really lacks a trademark conversation scene like the Bar scene in Basterds or the beginning of the film.

Am I the only one who thought upon reading the title that Stingray had a mental breakdown while trying to work out which film he preferred??

It's a tie for me. But if I really have to choose, then IB, cause I think it has tighter editting. One thing for sure, Christoph Waltz is absolutely awesome in both roles he's in. I really like the guy. Wonder if Quentin will keep using Waltz in his movies?! Hope so ^^

Basterds for sure. I feel as if it's more of a directorial achievement. There are scenes that are so beautifully done that Django doesn't really match, even though I love Django.

IB, easily. Less bloat, better overall cast, better script. IB- A/A-DU- B+/B

These breakdowns are pointless. I had a lot more fun with Django than I did IB, so Django for me. However IB gets much better with repeat viewings.
