Tues #s RTH Catching Fire: 4, Frozen 2.4, Homefront 800K, Thor 700K

I'm not sure why anybody is surprised by Frozen's drop, it was totally expected.Look at Tangled's and Toy Story 2's first Tuesday... It's a family movie in early December... The weekday numbers aren't going to be high... And neither will this weekend's...The real money will be made from Christmas-New Year's.

I really don't think Frozen has the WOM a lot of people are making it out to, and I think that's already starting to show. Good WOM sure, but I highly doubt it has the kind of WOM to hit 300 like many are predicting.

WOM is through the roof.  Weekdays are not what counts for family films and basing your prediction off of a Tuesday drop is pointless.  This weekend won't be the best judge either because the second weekend in December is always pretty harsh across the board so the following weekend will really tell us where this is finally headed.  It has virtually NO competition in the month of December so I think it has a great shot at 300.

Not all films will follow a set pattern - I honesty don't get the panic over a small 4% dip on a Tuesday after a long weekend where the film made 93 freaking million . And a side note - discount Tuesday effect had been around since at least 2009 it only became more noticeable as the economy continued to stay flat. This no discount Tuesdays for Tangled is shit lol.

Sure but don't bring up Toy Story. 2. That was back in 1999

I just saw the Nympomaniac trailer...

Da fuq?

Speaking of which, a theater apparently played the Nymphomaniac trailer before Frozen: http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Movie-Theater-Shows-Sexually-Explicit-Content-Frozen-Screening-40538.html

The news report says a moviegoer explained that there were technical difficulties that delayed the start time, so the theater played another cartoon: "They put in the filler, it looked like 'Steamboat Willie,' the old Mickey Mouse cartoon, and then all of a sudden it goes into this other scene," Lynn Greene said.

From Lynn’s description, I’m going to assume that the "filler" she’s referring to is the "Get a Horse" short that Disney played ahead of Frozen at (presumably) all screenings of the film. The "technical difficulties" part of the story may be true, but given that "Get a Horse" is (spoiler alert) partially in black and white and stars Mickey Mouse, I think she may have made an incorrect assumption about the "filler" situation. That’s a minor detail though, but it does muddle up the already vague details a bit in terms of trying to figure out how this happened. Were there technical difficulties? Was the video a snippet from another movie or a clip from a pornographic movie that had no business being in the theater to begin with? Or was it something else? Via Gawker —MoshNews cites a reader as saying it was the extended trailer for Nymphomaniac, which seems entirely possible, given it’s a current movie and the trailer most definitely features graphic content, and not the kind you’d want to expose to children. Check it outhere if you’re curious.
