It's sad that it scores so low at RT even if the average evaluation is not too bad.

To my own surprise the first review here on a big website (filmstarts.de) is positive (7/10). It's called a modern fantasy-blockbuster with new facets which stays still close to the tradition. The reviewer says there's not much focus on the prehistory of Arthur and that this is the main reason why the villain (Jude Law) has the clearer profile and Astrid Bergès-Frisbey is especially praised for her acting. Decent CGI and overall a film that is in love with details and staged with passion.
Filmstarts had a lot of 7/10 reviews that sounded much worse.

I wonder what a Zack Snyder directed King Arthur film would look.

 

Would probably have better action and better visuals than what I saw in legend of the sword three weeks ago.

It also sounds like classic Guy Ritchie. 

 

I feel like Guy Ritchie handled the tough, brash, English feel but Snyder would probably handle the technical stuff better.

Its amazing to me how hard Hollywood fucking sucks at doing Fantasy movies.  The last good ones were LotR.  I guess if you want any decent fantasy now you gotta go over to HBO and watch Game of Thrones.
