Weekend Numbers (4 day estimates pg 35)

Recommended Posts

So ... Guardians will pass Cap 2 today :) Both awesome films IMO.

I assume Edge of Tomorrow FINALLY passed 100 million yesterday (should have been MUCH bigger, awesome film)

MAYBE I'll see Sin City 2 this weekend ... probably be an empty auditorium.

Anyway ... it's another shitty Labor Day opening weekend.

* just looked at Labor Day opening records ... DAMN, Halloween 2007 just demolishes all openers ever in that date.

1st UPDATE, Friday, 4:47 PM: More estimates are arriving and it looks more like it’ll be another Guardians and Turtles dominated weekend. The November Man is now in third place and may end up taking about $2.5M+ today for a three-day gross of maybe $8.6M to $9M and around $11M to $12M for its four-day and $12M to $14M for its five-day run. Pretty good considering Relativity acquired this film for only $3M earlier in the year.

As Above, So Below could pull in around $2.7M to $3M+ today for a three-day gross of around $7M and a four-day gross of $8.8M to $10.3M. Their audience — the younger ones who loved to be spooked — really comes out tonight so estimates may raise later this evening.

And the re-release of cult classic Ghostbusters on 784 runs? Right now, it could play anywhere between $600K and $800K to bring in a three-day gross of $2.1M to $2.5M and a four-day run of $2.7M to $3M. More to come later this evening. But that is a quick snapshot.

wow...

Ray Subers ‏@raysubers 5 mins

Why are studios so bullish on the future of comic book movies (but iffy on Spider-Man)? Here's a helpful chart! pic.twitter.com/7GOnEVanQQ

Sony is rushing the Sinister Six after seeing what Marvel has done with their universe and that Desperation's to make Marvel money is killing Spiderman.

Somewhere, Sony is sitting in a corner crying.

I'm not into Spidey, but I think it's sad

That was a pretty huge jump from First Avenger to Winter Soldier.

Yep

Ray Subers @raysubers 33 secs

From last tweet: I'm estimating GUARDIANS ends around $730m worldwide. $505m + $100m (existing markets) + $125m (China/Japan/Italy/Germany).
