I can think of plenty of reasons.

Can you please tell me a couple of them? Cause, I mean, a movie about a beach having to use greenscreen for the beach is just... Weird? Is it really that hard to find a beach available for filming?

- you want to do a stunt that's either too dangerous or too complicated to pull off in an actual location

- you're doing pickups and your actors aren't available to shoot at that location (or the location itself isn't available)

- you don't have enough control over the environment there or it's simply too noisy and you'd prefer to get clean dialogue instead of looping everything later

- it might be more affordable

- you don't want to do a company move to a location and waste a chunk of a day, and there's no easy way around it in the shooting schedule

Alright; it looks weird though.

- you don't want to scare the public by having Zac Efron showing up in an American flag speedo. Think of all the parents taking their little kids for a fun day at the beach only to be treated to that sight!

I had a red band trailer before Life back in March.

That wasn't an official redband. That trailer had *some* profanity, but there were censored f-bombs. That was more of an unofficial yellowband.

It was just a green band targeted to R films like Life. This is the first domestic red-band. The other international ones which had one or two F-bombs don't count haha.

anyway confirmed for SNATCHED: https://trailer-track.com/2017/05/05/in-the-pipeline-looks-like-baywatch-is-finally-getting-a-proper-red-band-trailer/

Baywatch is the perfect summer film.  Hard bodies, soft skin, action, explosions, nudity and comedy.  This is going to be a giant hit.

I actually think this won't perform any better than the last TV show to hit the silver screen, that was CHIPS..

That would be Dwayne Johnson's lowest opening in 10 years. Not saying it's impossible but it would be very, very surprising if it did.

I doubt you checked how bad Chips box office was before sawing that.

Or do you really think that Baywatch starring Dwayne Johnson will not do better than 25 million WW ?

It will easily make much more than that, in is first weekend alone.

BKB... I worry about you sometimes.  How can you possibly think that?  CHiPs was so low on star power, the trailers were horrible and it was released in the dead zone of the spring.

The Rock is one of the biggest stars in the world, its a summer release and it's got a lot of clout behind it.  Baywatch will make more opening day that Chips made it's entire run.

Plus Baywatch may actually end up being decent.
