Weekend Actual #'s | Furious 7 outperforms estimates -- $147.2m actuals!

Recommended Posts

Yes, a lot of the times we'll say something based on prior precedent... and while most of the time that might be the case, there are always exceptions.

Thats why absolutes can never be used with BO. Trends help but we always have outliers, FF7 being the latest.

Thats what I was saying for Sunday and that outliers exist and that everything can't be guided by past numbers.

Furious 7 needs only a 2.04 multiplier to get to 300M. So the question is how inflated was this weekend's numbers considering Easter weekend isn't quite like other holiday weekends?

Considering this April has almost nothing other than Furious 7, it'll probably get the standard 2.4x that Fast 5 and 6 got. Possibly a 2.6x-2.7x if it gets some late legs over the last weekend of the month.

2.5x would be $368 million. 2.4x would be $350 million?

Either way, this year could actually get 6-7 $300 million+ DOM grossers. Furious 7, Avengers 2, Mockingjay 2, Star Wars 7... 4 locks. Minions, Jurassic World, Spectre and even Inside Out are all contenders for $300 million+ DOM, too.

A big year ahead  :)

Given the traditional legs of this franchise, anything over a 2.4x multipler would be fantastic.

It seems the definition of WW OW is not quite clear.

If you follow Disney s Avengers logic, Universal should add Russia,China and Japan FF7 OW to the number we have right now.

Thats the problem, avengers didn't got all it's marked in it's OW. Than they should be added too.

I think it would be interesting if they would just count all the opening day of all the countrys and count them up and give that number. Just to see how huge it opend and how good it legs were.

Lol at Get Hard estimates vs. Actual, get it together BOM.

Run All Night is also fucked up. All WB movies seem to be.

Anyway, Sunday drop of Furious 7 was better than the Saturday drop.  :o

Honestly, this is the most astonishing number for any opener I've ever seen in my life.

The numbers are beyond ridiculous.

Fucking amazing.

Very interesting that it had 3D in 40+ countries.
