Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse | 12.14.2018 | Sony | Phil Lord and Chris Miller

Recommended Posts

Spiderverse is doing fine for what it is. It's doing very good domestically as a matter of fact. The overzealous fanboys should have known that it wasn't making live action money. Overseas audiences were never going to embrace it to that degree. The overzealous fanboys disappointed themselves by expecting that.

I'm guessing Spider-Verse is headed for somewhere around a 330-350m WW total. Plenty of profit to be made and I think unlike Lego Batman which has to contend with the fact that there's Lego overload with its other films, Spider-Verse has a lot more room for growth now that they've gotten some more people over the hump with an animated Spider-Man film. Sony would be unwise to go with the spinoff though until they can break through further.

But I think a sequel could do pretty well if the quality stays strong.

Which reminds me... where's my man @Arlborn?

Just on an extended vacation abroad with family and I’ve taken some time off stuff that was taking too much from my time meanwhile but I should be back in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the shout out, I appreciate it!

$9mn 5th weekend, cume $148mn. I see it legging out to $180mn domestically and $190-200mn internationally. There's Japan release left and it can do really well there, say $25-30mn. That gives $395-410mn worldwide. Approximately $180mn returns for a $90mn film. Excellent.

About $80-100mn more than Lego Batman worldwide.
