I wonder if there's any chance of an IMAX release. Cameron shot it in Super-35 and protected a 1.66 aspect ratio (ironically, to create decent framing for the VHS pan-n-scan release), but that would lend itself well to IMAX.

I was disappointed that neither Titanic nor Jurassic Park made a whole lot of money during their re-releases, if only because it put an immediate stop to more '90s films I missed theatrically getting re-released. (And that's to say nothing of the absolutely disastrous performance of the Forrest Gump IMAX run that I'm sure everyone else has long since forgotten.)

 

So, naturally, I'm rooting for Terminator 2 to blow all the doors down and get other action flicks like The Matrix back onto the big screen.
