wildphantom
This is ridiculous. People freaking out over it doing half the business of a phenomenon. Compare it to any other event movie of this year and it's doing great. This is a spin-off film. It was never going to do what Awakens did. Especially as that was also the first Star Wars in over a decade, with the most loved characters in history returning. People need to get some perspective. I knew these meltdowns would happen.
FantasticBeasts
I suppose these are some good news: From the Japanese thread by Olive: At usual locations: RO Friday 113K admissions TFA made 178k admisisons, which translated to 374M yen nationwide. I guess RO friday should be 230-250M yen.

It'll do well, no sweat. Please. 60%+ drops ARE a bad sign. There's a point to be made that we should wait and see the full opening weekends and the results for the next few days after that, but there's no way, looking at these results on their own, that there's "nothing bad" about them.

Edit: Actually the HK results are good..In admissions it was 62% of what TFA did... To me that does not sound too encouraging, it is not like TFA exploded in Asian regions or did particularly great in HK like how it did in US or Europe, without that once in a decade event feel or nostalgia factor I don't think TFA should be expected to be twice as big as RO in HK, especially considering Donnie Yen is from HK. Yeah, people here are ridiculous, really....It's one of the biggest movies of the year and it's a spin-off, nothing bad at all, it's incredibly high when you think about it.
Purple Minion
Rogue One opened on Thu to less than $1M in Mexico, 65% drop in lc and audience from TFA. Even if last year's movie was more frontloaded, R1 may do just half of its OW gross. Edited December 16, 2016 by Purple Minion

Quigley
If those ratios hold for the rest of its run (incl NA's $29M Thu night gross), we're looking at less than $1B WW. However, I highly doubt it.
