terrestrial
@TigerPaw points out at the China Forum, that the 103 screens for IP Man 3 seem to be too high anyway, plus a few of those they got were closed due to weather = average per screen should be higher

No. It's made about $113m so far in China which means it would need to make another $100m+ O/S to reach 1b without China. It did $48m O/S all of last week including China. Mockingjay Raphael
Holy fuck, amazing OW for The Boy, and from what I'm reading, ppl are loving the twist, it will have good legs, another $30m grosser for horror, great year for the genre so far
POTUS 2020
Norm with the second best hold in the top ten. Unreal.
narniadis
Not even the bulk of the prestige fare was spared this weekend... goes to show that the Midwest can't keep up for the loss of the big metro areas for some pics. (that and theater drops were bad this weekend as well for some.) I will say that Hateful 8's theater drop this weekend aside, I do not get it's box office run at all.... it has never been a big increaser on Fridays or Saturdays, even relative to other adult oriented films and it's weekend holds suffer as a result. WrathOfHan
Surprising hold for 13 Hours, it could have made 10M if not for the storm
Daxtreme
Well, because of that lackluster week-end, TFA is now 2M behind on my model which puts it at 900M on Feb 1st/2nd. There is still hope though, next week-end might see a better-than-average hold. We'll wait and stay cautiously optimistic!
ladyevenstar22
congrats to The Revenant for making the top spot n1 , that leo and storm effect ! people will appreciate the movie's nature climate message more thanks to snowzilla( btw who came up with that sounds like a syfy show )
terrestrial
Exhibitor Relations @ERCboxoffice Ah, nuts. Stalling out at $82M, ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS: ROAD CHIP will be the 1st of the series to fail to reach $100M+ domestically. Exhibitor Relations @ERCboxoffice Got probed? THE 5TH WAVE is likely the last wave. Yes, it cost only $38M, however you can't start a franchise with a $10M debut. baumer
Look at the difference an Oscar nomination makes. Brooklyn falls less than 10% and Carol crumbles.
terrestrial
Only in case ppl are wondering about the different details we get about OS numbers, some websites calculate always anew the sum with the actual ER of the day they do the new calculation, others add the next revenue of the week / weekend with the new ER to the already established sum. ERs changed partly rather strongly during the run of a movie /see also e.g. SPECTRE) Counts for all movies, not only SW7 (see also discussion about that at the UK thread in the International Forum)

AniNate
Lol, Monster Hunt bombed. Clearly a China-only phenomenon. Anomalisa indeed appears done. Just not enough of an audience for it, unfortunately.
