DDD you know you are allowed to leave a film and ask for your $ back? Is it tacky? Absolutely but if you hate something enough & don't want to waste your time further why not?

I haven't bothered to do it yet, my philosophy is that if I paid for it, I stay. Thankfully I rarely see bad movies in theaters. I mostly see films out of suggestion or interest. Think the worst film I saw in theaters was Son of The Mask, and I was 12 at the time.

Since most of ticket $ goes to studios (as opposed to concessions which all goes to the theaters themselves), I actually would be ok with walking out & asking for $ back if it was a movie I really hated. Hasn't happened yet because I'm very picky about which films I go to see.

I've never done it but I could understand it if you walk out in the first 15 minutes or so but there re people who try to get their money back after watching most if not all of the movie.  Those are the same people who eat most of a meal then complain they don't want to pay the check or the people who return books to stores after reading most of it (and mess up the spine or bend pages).

Super tacky, those people have no class but then again does it really surprise you these days?

Not a fair comparison. You can tell a meal is shit after a few bites but you can't accurately judge a film without watching most if it(I would say all of it). I can't count the amount of films that start off strong but a weak climax ruins the film for people.

By then you're still watched and enjoyed most of it.  If you're the type of person that gets upset by endings more than any other part of the films or for whom endings make or break the entire film for you then read spoilers before you go - like those people who need to read the last few pages of a book before buying it.

I feel like Cloverfield Lane is actually one of the harder films to predict in recent memory.  Cloverfield definitely has a bit of a cult following and the people who love it LOVE it (like myself) but I think a lot of people weren't into the first (which was evident in it's holds).  I'm not sure what awareness is either, I have a friend who's more knowledgable than the general public, loved the first and had no idea it was coming out next weekend.  I could legit see anything from as low as 15 to as high as 35.

I'm just glad it's happening.

Since 50% is probably the average that goes back to the studio, most is probably a bit overstating.  Sure, it can get up to 60%.  At most.
