Zootopia has to open to $65m-$70m+ for $300m to be realistic. I know reviews are very positive but getting substantially above a 4x multiplier is not an easy task.

It will, so...

$1.7 million

$24.3 million

$35 million

$25 million

$86 million OW

It'd be nice to see this size of an OW!

It would set the bar high for other animated films this year, only Dory realistically could top that

If Zootopia does 300m we'll have 4 films (along with DP, BvS, CW) making 300m before the summer.

EDIT: Also, did DP become the 1st movie released before March to make 300m? Alice was in March. Sniper should count but technically it was released in Dec of the previous year.

American Sniper should count because it didn't go wide until January. Sniper's run was incredible considering it was a R rated war film, even OS it did pretty well almost cracking $200m

While The Lorax had a very good OW, its legs weren't great for an animated film with only a 3 multiplier and it underperformed OS partly due to Universal not releasing it until the summer in some markets and also Dr Seuss not having the same cultural impact that he does in the US

THG was in March.

I think it is the only 400m+ grosser before May. BvS should join it hopefully.

Passion of the Christ was released in February and got to 300m.
