I wonder if the disappointment of BvS has given some relief to the makers of Allegiant.  Considering that everyone shifted their focus to the latter with the former being now a mere footnote.

Not that both franchises were ever or would ever be on equal ground.

You're right, that was quite the blessing for them, wasn't it? People just sorta forgot about it and moved on. If BvS had done a bit better I believe there would be more people interested in Allegiant 's failure but the kind of people who have such interests now simply have a bigger fish to fry.

Horrific drop for MIDNIGHT SPECIAL. And this is his first movie with actual studio support. Ouch.

Whoever decided to start limited and slowly expand should be fired.

Friday. A series of 3 pretty good stoner comedy movies (Friday (1995), Next Friday (2000), and Friday After Next (2002)) starring Ice Cube. The first one also starred Chris Tucker.

You might know the first film as the origin of "Bye Felicia" or

Friday is a classic.

ALLEGIANT to finish with ~67m.

Finishing at 65m would have been a 50% drop from INSURGENT. Escaped that fate by a small margin.

OW (change) DOM (change) Multiplier

54.6 151 2.77x

52.2 (-4.4%) 130 (-14%) 2.49x

29.0 (-44.4%) 67 (-48.5%) 2.31x

EDIT: imo HUNTSMAN will drop 50% from it's predecessor.

Nice that it stayed above 9m. When they estimated 9.01 I had a feeling it was gonna go below.

Thinking ~16m more for 327.5m.

So you've given up on the 2multi but still clinging like Leo to the headboard for over 325m

13.8m more on an 11.2m week thru thursday?

That's 45% average weekly drops.

That'll happen like McDonald's serving hamburgers in India.

That WB Jungle Book movie is so doomed now.

Disney should put Jungle Book 2 in August 2018 just to mess with WB.

I thought I seen a tweet that Jungle Book was underestimated?

But it it was overestimated by ~ $350,000.

TJB was overestimated by roughly 300K on both Friday and Saturday, but underestimated by roughly 300K on Sunday.

So the overall weekend was slightly overestimated (by three tenths of 1%), but Sunday was underestimated (by 1%)

They don't want Midnight Special to become a - well, it was never meant to be a competition - distraction for BvS.

I heard a lot of critics loved it.

There is another duel coming up: Robin Hood Extended Universe from Disney & Sony called "Hood"

Warner also has a competing project. Yes, after Errol Flynn, Kevin Costner & Russell Crowe versions,

they are doing yet another one!

Why would they even try, seriously. Didn't the Russell Crowe one flop?
