150M budget. But why?

Because they thought Burton would deliver, like he did multiple times in the past.

In hindsight, it's easy to say that Fox shouldn't have spent 150m in the film, but I'm sure, at least initially, that Fox thought they had struck a great deal.

X-Men meets Harry Potter directed by Tim Burton. And it wouldn't be even that expensive (for a tentpole). Who wouldn't greenlight that?

The Tim Burton of 2016 is not the Tim Burton who gave us "Ed Wood" and "Big Fish".

Frankly, Burton jumped the shark for me with "Alice In Wonderland".

I highly doubt, but seriously hope, that Burton will someday top Big Fish.

Feeling no hype at all for this, this is going to flop so hard, what a shame.

Gonna start reading the first book this week.

BoxOffice.com just upped their prediction to a 90M finish.  They wouldn't have done that if there was no hype.  Starting to think this could pull a Maze Runner.

Wait... People here really think the 150M budget from Cjhon's voices in the head is true?? Lmfao

I have 150M% of sure it is not.

Btw, The numbers ESTIMATED 80M-90M on budget.

http://www.the-numbers.com/news/215620830-2016-Preview-September

Production Budget: Estimated at $70 million to $80 million
Box Office Potential: $65 million

65m dom sounds about right to me, sadly. Hopefully it can do some solid numbers OS.
