There's no more GB thread due to (what else?) dumpster fire-esque discussion so review plz?

I did put one in the Convo thread, but here:

Sigh. Unfunny. Pretty mediocre overall with maybe one or two decent scenes. I shouldn't have been surprised after seeing the trailers, but I guess I'm still disappointed. Dialogue ranged from meh to terrible. Cameos were pretty okay to medicore too. They had people like Murray and still failed with lines for him. Granted wasn't Murray going to be threatened in form of a lawsuit by Sony to get him into the movie? Can see why he was pretty meh.

References to random internet sites and even saw a building from the original movie, though this I'm not 100% sure on C+

I can't be bothered writing a full review. Also, I don't recommend seeing three different movies in one day lol. Kind of throws off your schedule.

Tarzan is going to be anything but a bomb.  It looks like it is heading for at least 120 million here, maybe more and as long as it can make about 250 overseas, it will be a break even film.  It's not a box office success by any stretch, but far from the bomb that many, myself included, thought it would be.

I'm happy for Tarzan. It doubled the vast majority of predictions last weekend, and this weekend's drop is great. 370m worldwide...with future home video sales will easily allow it to break even. Suck it, bitches.

6.1+8.4+6=~20.5 for LOT, 81.3m cume

-46.76% from an ow with inflated sunday.

Should manage the ~38.7m more it needs for a 120m dom.

EDIT: Last weekend I was wondering if LOT could do more than/match ALICE2 and BFG combined dom. Doesn't seem very likely. LOT would need to leg it to 130m. ALICE2 is gonna end around 77m. BFG would need to stop at 53m. But it will be close in the end, maybe within 10m. LOT could be at 125m dom and BFG + ALICE2 at 135m dom (58 + 77).

Funnily enough the only Ghibli movie I've seen is Mononoke, maybe I should watch the rest of them, but I keep hearing Mononoke is their best so eh, whatevs.  Maybe one day.

I'd recommend as their best Spirited Away, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Porco Rosso, My Neighbor Totoro, and The Wind Rises.

Had to edit because obviously Rogue One won't push Deadpool down 2 spots.

So Deadpool is just going to magically fall out of the top 5?

I realized my error after posting that haha.  Disney should give Jungle Book 4 million dollars from puerto rico to get it over Deadpool

If you can get Disney to re-release Jungle Book as a drive in double feature with Dory or Pete's Dragon and push it over, then all you need is Rogue One and Moana to put Deadpool at #6.  Still a chance!!

...Inside Out was animated so what's your point?

That its all time record is not just for an original animated film like the thread's title suggest, but for original films in general period? May not seem like a big difference, but it kinda is.

It really sucks that Jungle Book couldn't get over the billion and Dory isn't doing too hot overseas. 5 Billion dollar films for Disney would've been great.

Not sure if you meant to imply otherwise, but Dory will definitely hit $1B WW. A number of large markets haven't opened yet.

Japan still remains for Jungle Book. Not amazing chances that it will get it to 1B, but not terrible either. It will be painfully close either way.
