WE are not calling Tarzan "the V" movie. That's as dumb as those who keep using the word stan like it's a real thing instead of just saying fan. They think they sound hip or cutting edge using made up words to describe something that already has a word for it.

I think I'm hip and cool....so I'll call it The V

Spoiler

I don't really think I'm hip or cool, but The V is a really funny name for it.  Lighten up a bit. :)

SLOP:

6.9M Wednesday -25%

5.9M Thursday -14%

6.5M Friday +10%

8.5M Saturday +30%

6.8M Sunday -20%

21.8M Weekend

Friday increase might be a bit harsh but we really don't know how Ice Age will affect it

You're hilarious dude.

SLOP: Wednesday:  6.9

Thurs:  6.5 (-5%) Brave Madagascar and The Lorax all fell by less than 3% against Ice Age's Thursday preview number.  I get that previews weren't as big in 2012 as they are now, but still...14% is pretty ridiculous.  Also Brave fell 42% against Ice Age's opening in 2012, Madagascar 51%...so good luck with your 58% drop.  That's laughable.

Friday:  8.15 (+25%)

Sat:  10.75 (+28%)

Sun:  8.05 (-25%)

26.75 (-46.5%)

You do know that ALL words are made up, correct?

The word "tree" has nothing about it that intrinsically pertains to what we know as tree. We just associate the word with the thing it names due to socialization.

Despite how my post could be read into......

Spoiler

I'm not uptight or grumpy.

There are enough things to keep up with than adding nicknames to films. It took me days to figure out what 'FTF' was all about!

*SIGH* really coch, really? You're being pedantic. I'm not having a conversation about this let's move on.

Combined the three openers could account for $100-120m  Star Trek will be taking many of the bigger and more expensive screens and just having 3 wide openers will cut into screen if not theater counts.

I think it will take around a 10% hit on Thur but have have a 25% or so Friday jump.

Well, that's a bit less impressive for Pets.

It's higher than IO's 2nd Tuesday (8.75) and Minions (8m).

Yes, but it also opened about 16% higher than Inside Out did.

Also, Pets will face tougher competition on its 3rd weekend than IO.

IO's Wed drop was also only 14.7% since it was leading into the 4th of July holiday w/e where it made $29.77m.  The gap between IO and Pets will close to around $5m or less after this w/e.
