Needed a 3 h cut to flesh out the world and characters probably.

 

LOTR has a stupid and simplistic story (going from point A to point B in 10+ hours, riveting stuff), but its length give its weight & grandeur.

I’ve read that budget is “only” 100 mill so its possible that it could save face WW. No doubt it will flop domestic though

Im undecided if ill go see it. Is it atleast visually interesting? I can (mostly) forgive underdeveloped characters and a convuluted plot, but i want my movies to look good.

For sure. Got a lot of interesting stuff going on. They sure do pack a lot of movie into this movie.

Thought it looked better, but I thought RPO was just plain ugly in general.

The only people who are surprised are the people who pretend to be. The film has nothing going for it. Peter Jackson's name doesn't sell anymore.

This was fine. Generic story with great potential wrapped in the best visuals of the year. It probably cost 200M and it shows.
